F-5 was used as the fictional Mig-28 in Top Gun. The Israeli Kfir were used as enemy planes in the lesser known (and infinitely cornier) film Iron Eagle where they went up against the F-16.

Pakistan and Sweeden did reach a deal and was signed but the Swedish parliament blocked delivery of the planes to Pakistan.

My understanding from an oficer who worked on the deal was that it was a "political" decision to go for Mirage, even though the Saab was not only a more suited aircraft and it came with a aeronautical industry framework. Money and Politics, as I understand.

hmmm 175,000 is not a bring price i mean its just a little over a crore.There are many people in Pakistan that can buy such stuff.

Although operating cost is quite high.
