I do not think the term 'Mercenary" is appropriate for the military personnel from other Muslim countries. They are hired directly through the governments. So, they are 'Hired' military personnel.

At most we may help the Saudis in clearing mines or medical areas. BD isnt going to engage with anything that goes against Yemenis. Let the Saudis,emirates and Qataris handle those houthi rebels. Govt policy is in that front, We will engage in any war with anybody regardless of how "super power" they are, only in case when two holy mosques comes under any active threat!

it's not about gen. Raheel... we could have gone invaded iraq and afghanistan along with USA and UK when they asked us to.... the main reason bd won;t be participating in military campaign without stipulations is because we don't want to be in any operation that deems us as the agressors... in this case the yemeni conflict with saudi arabia... so unless proper discussion takes place on under what circumstances our troops will be used and for what.... we aren't sending our troops.... just look in kuwait for ex. there are bengali armed forces personnel and also paksitanis... they are basically instructors but they cooperate with each other. there is nothing like that.

The sole reason bd military has respect around the world is because it did its overseas jobs very well... wether it be peaceful role or in a conflict... like iraqs invasion of Kuwait and the subsequent demining operations... bringing of stability in Congo and stopping people from turning to cannibalism etc.
bd also currently deploys military instructors in some gulf countries military academy and gets substantial amount of money for the service...l just something not shared with the public at least in bd....

Peacekeeping is not the same as fighting a raging war.

Military instructors are ok as long as they are not giving advice while a war is going on.
