The proponents of "armed teachers" are ignoring a very important point. Unlike some american school teachers and students who have to confront a single student armed with some pistols or semi automatic weapons and few rounds, the teachers in KPK will be fighting against these monsters (pic below) who are ideologically motivated, drugged, armed to teeth, well-trained, and there biggest weapon is suicide vest. The government has to hire some professional guards who must be able to provide some good resistance until the arrival of special forces. Teachers, especially the female teachers, will be just like sitting ducks in that situation.
So how much ammo will the teachers be carrying? A pistol has limited ammo, and Ak47.
Teachers going to wear bullet proof vests?
How will they deal with explosive attacks? Or smoke attacks?
List goes on. Pathetic attempt for false sense of security.
Again, the same BS arguments being repeated over and over again.
Everyone, for God's sake, get this through your skulls:
NO ONE EXPECTS THE TEACHERS TO ACTUALLY FIGHT.
THEY ARE NOT A LINE OF DEFENSE.
THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO GET TRAINING OR USE WEAPONS
THEY ARE NOT AN ALTERNATIVE TO POLICE AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES
"
We are not ordering teachers to carry arms," Atif Khan, provincial education minister, told the BBC. "What we have discussed is that the government would allow licensed guns if teachers and parents asked for it."
BBC News - Peshawar massacre: Pakistan replies with 'weaponised' teaching
Read through the articles again. They wanted to carry weapons and they were permitted to carry weapons. Because of that, the government had to make sure they were trained to use those weapons. What's the problem there? How is it a failure for the KPK government?
If they feel confident or safe with weapons and want to try to protect themselves in case all the other measures fail, they should be and are being allowed to do so. Period. They want to do it. They want to be able to fight for their lives.
Even if they won't be able to defeat the terrorists, they'll be able to try and put up some resistance instead of just getting slaughtered. That's their point. No one is expecting them to single-handedly stop an attack (or even try at all). Even the teachers themselves don't expect it, they're saying they want to ''
go down fighting''. Go down.
Otherwise, the schools have armed guards, police officers, walls and barbed wire as actual lines of defense.
