Female commuters triumph: reserved seats in public transport approved

Rawalpindi district government on Wednesday approved an increase in women’s reserved seats in public transport vehicles in a meeting at the District Coordination Office (DCO).
Accordingly, two front seats would be reserved for females in Suzuki pick-up vans, 5 in wagons and 8 in the buses moving along inter city routes.
District Coordination Officer Arshid Mehmood Langrial, Rawalpindi Town Administration Head Owais Tariq Tarar, City Traffi Officer (CTO) Syed Ishtiaq Hussain and Muttahida Transport Federation Secretary General Wazir Awan and other transporters attended the meeting.
