Treason wouldn’t apply if all they’re doing is criticising the establishment. You need to read article 6, and what constitutes high treason. Even the reasonable limitations to free speech alluded to in article 19, nowhere near invalidate Nawaz’s rhetoric. At best you might win a defamation case against the persons and institutions whom he has named, even that is subject to libel laws, which I’m not familiar with.

It’s funny because the same rhetoric you want to try Nawaz for high treason, Imran used to say too. There are clips of him. So are they both treasonous? Let’s hear your attempt to rationalise this obvious double standard.

Treason can be applied on Dawn Leaks! A grenade was recently gifted to a Head of an institution and PMLN leaders openly threatening the repeat of 71. Blackmailing judges etc with videos. Recently the two PTM leaders have had their CNIC barred by the court with arrest warrants issued for threatening state institutions. Policy is to do them in on financial crimes instead of anything else (there's a fair bit that can be slapped on them) so that outside world can't apply pressure. Maryam is going back in jail because the dheel is no more - she could have been thrown back in jail immediately after Nawaz flew out because her bail was for the reason of 'caring for her father' ONLY.

I disagree with your analysis of most of this. I could go through a few points, but my replies would be lacking substance since we won't really know what will happens till it actually happens. I can almost guarantee that N current leadership will be back, if not now, if not five years from now, some time they'll be back. The longer that's delayed, potentially the worse the fall for the current system. But I'm glad to hear that you don't see Nawaz's comments against generals as treason but are instead focusing on dawn leaks, and some political matters.

So I will agree to disagree. Let's wait and see.

I can almost guarantee that N current leadership will be back, if not now, if not five years from now, some time they'll be back. No, I just don't put much stock in some cases. I'm also quite aware of how plainly high treason is defined under Article 6, and how it shouldn't be muddled with political differences. So where I can't substantially say anything, it's about what happens in the coming months or years, it's mostly just guess work.

Keeping up with the court proceddings on their cases gives the best indication of what's really happening including dheel etc. What gets reported on mainstream media is full of lies and fabrications.

Article 6 won't be activated against these lot. It has been decided to convict and disqualify for life on solid money laundering and corruption cases.

That's fine then, but you specifically mentioned treason earlier, that's what I have been responding to for the last few posts.
