We should find him. It's not his fault that he is here. He is just a soldier just like our soldiers.

Perhaps we should find missing Pakistanis kidnapped & sold by our forces to American terrorists.

This soldier was in Afghanistan to kill Muslims, he deserves death.

he deserves death.

Really?

This soldier was in Afghanistan to kill Muslims

Come on now, this person was there because he was ordered to be there -- and who are these "Muslims" you speak of? Is it the groups who oppose the government or the people who support the government?

Those who are talking about unconditional "love" for this chap... Pay heed and attention...

The rule in Islam for such a scenario is very clear... We can help this man and his son ONLY on the condition that he wont come back to fight against Muslims ever again i.e he has to resign or take discharge from the military...

In case he breaks that condition and is caught again, he is to be executed...

The rule in Islam and in humanity both is not to target even soldiers once they have laid down their arms. If he is a prisoner of Pakistan it would make sense to keep him, but he is a prisoner of the Taliban and hence we should secure his rescue without conditions... IF he is in Pakistan.

Of course investigation should be done on why he was in Pakistan when he got caught or was he in Afghanistan and they brought him here.

Not to mention, we will have another opportunity to showcase to the Americans how we rescue their people and how they jail ours (Aafia Siddiqui)

do you think i was joking?

What a childish argument- what's next, probably , don't fight any invading force as they are innocent babies and just received orders. These so called babies are there to massacre Muslims.

i speak of the Muslims who are fighting against kaafir invaders whom you are supporting right now!

execution is also an option in Islamic law.

Sir jee... Americans are not so Masoom... You of all people should know this... and also... Americans have murdered countless Muslims in Afghanistan who were simply minding their own day to day business and affairs...

It is better for Allah to have the Kabba at Mecca destroyed than to have one drop of innocent Muslims spilled unjustly...

Let's not mix things and start executing people on the basis of non-homicidal acts. A soldier fights under orders. If you get him on the battle field, then thats it, its fine. But once they have laid down their arms, we are duty bound to protect some basic rights.

You guys speak so causally of dealing death - it's amazing to me and even more amazing that we on the forum give you a venue to say things which demean what we hold in the highest esteem.

Actually this is correct... In Islam POW has enormous rights... its an interesting study on its own and some of these rights are very strange to be honest... :)

Let me repeat, along with other options- execution is also a possibility in Islamic laws.

i follow Islamic laws and not any geneva convention or some other international laws.

I would agree with that also... but you have to realize that an appeal for mercy/help has been made by the father of the captured soldier... so basically it comes back to what I said earlier... if he gives his word that he shall not return to fight against Muslims (even if it be the so called Taliban who are fighting against NATO in Afghanistan... basically ordinary Afghans) then he can be helped and released...

The second time around he gets caught there can be no negotiation... He has to be executed as a rule... but then since he is not fighting Pak Army rather the Mujahideen {again ordinary Afghans) in Afghanistan, the ball is in their court... not ours...
