my father's coursemate and my mamu's class fellow at lorance college.
after east Pakistan, there was lots of anger in the Pak military regarding both the military and political brass and attock conspiracy was a side effect of that.....it would have been more appropriate had it been termed artillery mess Rwp conspiracy (now known as garrison mess).
All in all, it was nothing more than officers letting off their steam. But the power that be, back then were on edge and could not tolerate decent amongst rank n file n hence decided to make it an example for others. N they happen to be the fall guys.

on a side note, all those court-martialed did really well in their later life.

Almost every army mess does that and tamtar hi ka to maza hota ha. At least it is better than the home cooked one because no matter what mother says in the end it turns out to be a qourma instead..

My father told me a story of an officer who came back to PMA as an instructor/adjudant in 70s and had escaped from India.

I believe he was Major Nadir. Although my father as a cadet joined later on when the said officer probably had left PMA (I can't remember exactly).

Anyhow there was still a lot of resent amongst the army officers.

Bhutto once came to PMA when my father was a cadet and the whole PMA was covered with FSF guys as he still feared backlash.

He got what he deserved later on (although he deserved much more).

Yes the seekh kebabs are the best you can get, really juicy and the naans when brought in hot by the waiters is like a moment from heaven. Five people can eat sumptuously for only 3-5 thousand

Yes,my father used to say the same that they are ruining the mess but now he admits that the mess has become even better. But one thing that i always notice is that the quality and etiquettes of the guests is decreasing
