congrats to Iran. How many of these are planned and how many are active? These subs seems to be perfect for shallow waters of persian gulf.

Fateh is the first one of her class(Fateh class), Usually Iran doesn't announce how many weapon systems they want build, so we don't know what we do know(from jane) is that they are building one in the caspian sea and 1200 ton Besat is also under construction

It is assembling although it is good in its own way but Fateh is different in that her design and all of its parts are Iranian while type 209 is a german sub built with imported parts.

thats true. Such things are highly classified especially when it comes to Iran.

not for now but you can't underestimate them. Anyway in their Type-214 subs, there would be many turkish made equipments.

We are building 6 U-214s now with German help(80% indigenous).
These will be the last subs we buy,after this only indigenous.

It's not assembling with imported parts %81 of the project builded with indigineous parts. Only fuel - cells and motor comes from Germany.

That is Type 214, which will have 80 percent indigenous(your second pic) part but none have been completed yet, Type 209 is built with German parts.
Edit: it seems that 80 percent Turkish parts is wrong,the industrial compensation for the deal is as high as 80% of the contract value.

Turkish parts of the sub:

• HAVELSAN will take part in creation of the command and control software of the submarines. With GENESİS project this company gained a lot of know-how for surface ships. With the Type-214 project they will also gain know-how of software integration and creation for submarine systems.
• Koç Savuma Sistemleri will develop an torpedo countermeasure system
• MİLSOFT will deliver Link11/22 data transfer software
• TÜBİTAK will supply their underwater telephony system and self-noice and other signature measuring systems
• STM will gain know-how in submarine construction and system integration.

The value of the contract is estimated as 2,5 billion €. There is %80 offset agreement. The submarines will be built in Gölcük Naval Shipyard where 11 submarines of Type 209, were previously built.
