I feel embarrassed sometimes the attitude of fellow countrymen, they are ok if IK lick Rekha ...... and shut their hypocrites eyes when Mushraff met BJP leaders wine with them Shake hand and hug them.
It’s a happy day for true boot lickers the people who now licking the ballz of current CJ and before him they crused all, the respect of Army and judiciary is all selective in narrow minds.

My sincere commiserations to right-minded and decent Pakistanis on the loss of a larger than life figure, somebody who graced the entire sub-continent. May her memory inspire a thousand others. She will be sorely missed by the oppressed and the down-trodden of all countries.

Yes. I disagreed with her on many many fronts especially political point f views but no death is to be celebrated.

She took steps towards women rights and women cases. I know of a few women who got free cases done by her firm through her.

She was proof that you can make it in this male dominated society and male dominated profession ( law career even today has male domination) even winning supreme court bar elections for presidency and becoming the first woman to do so and reach amazing heights with talent bcz disagreements or not, she was talented. You don't go supreme court without talent.

She showcased that women can make it in Pakistan and this is an inspiration for many. Many.

Each year lawyers of a district have elections and each district has a king maker meaning a person whose support was critical towards winning the election ( skp bar elections are millions of rupees affair each year). So each district has such groups who bring forward a candidate and their weight is a pre requisite necessity to run. These district elections are civil/session level. High court elections and supreme court elections are separate affair and have their own King makers.

The asma group in supreme court was such a group at supreme court level. A very impressive feat. Extremely impressive....

A successful career indeed. Human rights and women rights and struggle for democracy and also worked for lawyer unity.

In India too, even if you are mildly left - you can be dubbed anti-national and have to prove your patriotism. I guess it is more apparent online as the Internet allows a degree of anonymity for people to air their prejudices. But I believe that there are mostly good people everywhere.

Aik puri list hain and yes she is questionable but her positives are positives and indeed her flaws may outweigh them but her career is more impressive especially considering that she was a woman and law field practice in Pakistan is very hard for women and there she reached heights many dream about and many don't even dare to dream about.
