Famine spread in North Korea, 20K dead in single province this year

It's none of South Korea's business beyond the 38th line.

And I'm pretty sure that all the players in the Peninsular Game are happy to see a balanced situation.

Of course it is, it's legally ROK territory.

ROK : North Korea is legally a part of ROK.
US : Supports ROK takeover of North Korea
Russia : Supports ROK takeover of North Korea
Japan : Supports ROK takeover of North Korea <= This position change was caused by the Chinese military threat. Having North Korea taken over by ROK and installing US military air and naval bases in former North Korea enhances Japan's security.
China : Opposes ROK takeover of North Korea

Sheer garbage. If the people chose not to buy, there is nothing you can do about it. Of course, YOU can be a friend to the North Koreans by moving there. Let us know when.

Weak. During the Cold War, the communist bloc traded with each other just fine. But the problem is that the communist bloc had nothing but crap to present to the market so the only thing members of the communist bloc can do is foist their crap upon each other. North Korea's plan of self reliant ended up with a country producing nothing but crap.

Those days of cold war era are gone and let's not dwell on that. I'm not say the Kims have no faults, but if the US didn't put on the sanctions many countries in the west would at least help and trade with her. She wouldn't be so dirt poor now.

.
Why shouldn't China support a friendly neighbor or rather to have a hostile government station troops on her border. Don't forget it is the Americans that force the Kims to the corner so they have to develop nukes to protect their survivals.

US also favors the status quo, thus NK and SK will always remain as two different nations. :coffee:

The US goal is to let North Korea be taken over by the ROK, so that the "friendly territory" extends right before the front gate of Beijing.

Liberated North Korea will be the most anti-China area around on the planet, I guarantee you that.

Simple...Be like Japan or South Korea and we will trade. In fact, if North Korea is like South Korea, both US and the South Koreans will be happy to deal with a 'North Korea' as a political peer, instead of a political abomination.

ROK won't, because doing so is illegal and unconstitutional. Remember, the North Korea in its present state is an illegal rebel regime within the ROK, and you don't recognize a rebel regime.

The US goal is to make Korea its "region 12", just like Japan is "region 11" in it's selfish global plan.

What is preventing China from taking up the slack?

What's to prevent SK from picking up the slack. We are not Koreans. Those aren't our brothers and sisters. Spend less on plastic surgery and send the money north.

I thought the whole ROK thing was a rebel regime of the Japanese Empire. Remember how your King willingly trust your fate with hands of Ido Hirobumi?
