Guy pretending to be a Pakistan Army soldier caught by real Pak army Captain !!!

In the U.K they are called Walts after a man Walter Mitty and in England and Wales it is still a crime for a civilian to wear uniform of the armed services unauthorized. In the U.S there is a law called the "Stolen Valor" law which prohibits people from dressing up as soldiers/vets for personal gain.

Notable Walts in the UK

In the U.S there is a retired navy seal called Don Shipley who investigates and calls out phony seals:

To Pakistani friends, what laws exist in Pakistan to prevent civilians pretending to army/police/emergency service employees? Can you buy uniforms freely, are there any checks and balances? The reason I ask is especially since Pakistan is fighting a war against terrorism on its own doorstep and inside her own borders, it would be critical that non authorized persons don't get access to such uniforms and associated paraphernalia etc.

Ksi bachi ko impress krne nikla hoga

Many of these people are involved in petty crimes or bhatta khori.
I once got a called from someone claiming to be Asad Khosa from GHQ...number was fake call using some apps..I asked him since when GHQ has become public courts to settle petty disputes...recorded his call and registered a FIR.

Wearing uniform of armed forces will probably get you in terrorism charges... Those found in them disappears for a few days and thats about it...you don't hear about them again...

Well I don't know what to make of enforced disappearances but your country, your rules. What I will say is that unless you are an actor on a set or play, there should be no reason to dress up in uniform.

Should have got him to do the PA fitness test, that would have been hilarious.

You can catch out these phonies just because of the meals they wear. For example, you can't get multiple purple hearts, you get 1 and for any additional wounds in battle/operations you get an oak leaf cluster. In the U.K, the most common walts are those pretending to be Para's or 22. If you found that funny watch this guy:

It shocks me at the ease of which one can procure Pak military uniforms, it really does need to be nipped into the bud.Kudos Sir
You cant... uniforms can only be procured from CSD..... with proper identification/service card.

This kid was wearing his friends uniform if you watch the video.

You can find many such stores. I remember many in Rawalpindi when I was in Pakistan. They mainly sell smuggled/stollen NATO equipment, surplus standard issue stuff, some of it is pure bootlegged low quality stuff...but u can hardly get GI standard issue kits from such places. Tri forces mainly rely on other ID measures as well.

They're kinda like Army/Navy surplus store in US
Some other institutions may be more porous in this regard as well.
Hi,

I did a Google search and found this website:

http://superarmystore.com

How easy is it for people to purchase police and armed forces uniforms inside Pakistan?

But if you visit the store website all the badges, uniform and boots look brand new and Pak issue. My concern would be not the uniform but the unit and corps badges along with rank slides which people could purchase and emulate a position of authority.

I would imagine someone in Army uniform in Pakistan would get instant credibility? Dangerous to say the least.

In the UK you can buy army gear too but things like tactical flashes (Unit badges) or anything with police printed on it are controlled items.
