fairness of dresscode need at work

In my own home country I’ve seen, and all around most asian and western countries in the world I’ve read, that women are given leeway in most offices to wear as little as tank tops and miniskirts, while men are still required to wear collar shirts and forbidden to wear shorts to work on any day. If it’s freedom of dress the world desires, then why restrict men to long pants without giving an inch of leeway to any form of shorts? After all, does a miniskirt pass off any better an image than men shorts do? I feel the need to practice consistency for all major governmental and private corporations, whether it’s image or freedom of dress they support. The most common form of argument I’ve seen online is “men should refrain from being provoked by what women wear”, so I ask in all fairness that “women not be provoked by men wearing shorts to work” too.

I hate the fact that I have to wear a tie to work, and some chick can flaunt her legs and wear a blouse that doesn't choke her throat.

But I shouldn't have to wear a dress shirt with the top button choking me and a tie all day in 90 degree weather.

You said it, I probably have mentioned this some where on defence.pk that back in the days when I was in university, they made a rule against boys for wearing jeans, but girls could wear anything they liked, thou they dont wear skirts here, but their jeans are more tighter than that of boys.

Sadly he is one of those 'V..... worshipping men' who are responsible for such discrimination in our societies. Even in shools in Pakistan they make little boys wear ties in this weather.

Double standards. Even here in university, seniors tell freshers not to wear jeans and short sleeved shirts but nothing is said to girls.
