Failure to locate crash site raises security questions

How about inferiority complex of being an indian- :azn:

You must be kidding.

Even 'other' nationalities some times try to pass of as Indians in order to get good image. Why should we have an inferiority complex then? :azn:

.
It seems like every day that we read news reports of a plane crash in india. Whether its a military plane or civilian plane. Is it that difficult for you people to learn to fly properly?

Not a day passes without a drone attack in Pakistan!!!

Atleast we are flying our planes, rather than keeping them in hangers.
Also don't forget to switchoff your Radar. Why waste power??

why should the topic be diverted towards pakistan , and when does the indians start behaving like them of pointing others failures to hide own.....i am surprised !!

Hmmmmm............ ok we accept that our systems are failure. Now what?

As a Indian what do you suggest us to do?
And also let us know your opinion about our neighbor Pakistan's capabilities?;)

.
ask IAF if it is not , why did IAF then try to make the nation fool by fly it for search...

a good radar on a fighter having ground attack capabilities won't find it difficult to track a 2m2 matel garbage on ground...

su30's were successful in helping identifying crash site of Dr YSR late CM of andhrapradesh who died in a chopper crash.

When the helicopter is crashed, it will be no more 2m2 . All the parts are broken and are scattered here and there.

i read the full article on bharat-takshak.

i would not put too much blame on SU-30. SU-30 is not a SAR aircraft hence its capabilities in terms of SAR are very very limited.

now we come to the question of why only SU-30 was used for this SAR. here is the answer. it was the only all weather fighter plane avaliable to do the job. we have MIG-21, MIG27 and MI-17 in that region. out of those only MI-17 has SAR capability but it cant do much in bad weather. same is the case with MIG-21 and 27. they dont have SAR capability.

hence SU-30 was selected to do the job. it is very difficult for a fighter to carry out search/locate at speed of 600-800 kms. with weather being bad, incessant rainfall (as all people who have resided in north east know) make things worst for pilot.

one leader of an student organisation with no knowledge of military matters raises a question and every one is jumping on the seat.

. .
for those looking for answer:

The area over which the contact from the helicopter with Hon’ble CM was lost was a rough mountainous Himalayan terrain covered with thick forested area. Simultaneous persistent cloudy conditions and incessant bad weather limited the use of optical remote sensing data.

Thus, microwave remote sensing data, which can penetrate clouds and quickly image large areas in all weather conditions, was used to locate the missing helicopter.

Since the crash site is located in the region with high steep slopes falling in the layover/foreshortening area of the radar viewing angle, as seen in the above images, no anomaly/back scatter signature can be observed. Also, illustrated in the image below are signals of metallic objects which resulted in false alarm.

Details from ISRO:Missing helicopter carrying Hon'ble CM of Arunachal Pradesh

Holy Shyt, did you see the resolution of those photos? Unbelievable

actually in recent years India's aviation industry has been relatively safe in international standards due to new modern stat of the art safety equipment being installed all across India. The same cannot be said about Pakistan.

And it seems this is sensationalised anyway- MKI and ISRO failed? I don't think so- the MKI is an advanced fighter aircraft not a SAR bird, the only reason it was used in this case was because of political pressure for something to be done. It is not designed for this role what do you expect? And ISRO? again it is not in their usual role to be scanning jungles for crash sites. It seems politicians are trying to pass the buck.

And let's not forget the area is extremely hazardous to fly in-hence the crash offering pathetic visibility. And is a HUGE area to cover. Internal security compromised?:rofl:
