Facebook, Oracle Grab IIT students for 1.4 and 1.8 crores

.
technically correct, but they cannot be selfish and not participate in totally changing especially india... what will they do with that money... the same that typical indians do... buy a house in some middle-class area, buy a silly car, arrange a 600-guest wedding etc.

the lady earning that money won't probably help her in not being "honor killed"... remember the female college student from delhi who was murdered by her parents a few days back.

What's bad with enjoying your money. If i have earning anything, i have every right to use it as per my convenience. You can donate all you savings but you can't tell me to do same. That's my money :pleasantry:.

.
A short sighted person only can say such a thing. When Satya Nadella went to US, People like you would have thought same same goes for a lot of other people.

nadella?? he is called "slumdog ceo" by american computer people... ( Life of an I.T. Grunt | Notes From The Trenches of Software Development ).

What you say as Wage slavery, there is no thing like wage slavery.

in simple words, coolies.

No one can stop him if he wanted to to resign, so don't use these big words.

how many indians actually leave jobs??

They worth nothing in this open market. Only weak will whine about competition.
Survival for the fittest is natural thing, you have to compete if you want to survive. Very simple thing.

and that has made india the "suicide capital of the world"... the typical indian mother of the older generation will respect her son only if he shows her regular money ( monthly salary )... what should such a mother be called??

you are correct... but the problem is typical indian don't enjoy money... rather, they save money for stupid things like four-day wedding ceremonies and religious pilgrimages.

Atleast he is called Slumdog CEO, You and i are called slumdog. He is very better than us.

in simple words, coolies.
And everybody working as a salaried employee is not a coolie. What you do for your daily needs, Coolie.

nadella?? how many indians actually leave jobs??
You don't know boss, a lot. Get out of your cage.

I don't know about your or anyone else's mother, but my mother loves me even if i don't take anything to her.

.
What is name of your project.

the name will be private until we decide to make the project public.

(If you will tell me name, then my next reply would be that you have achieved nothing by your own logic that those guys have achieved nothing.)

i didn't understand.

By writing angry posts on forum.

i work off-line, and online on other sites too.

By writing angry posts on forum.

angry, common sense, direct... call them whatever but i brought hardcore socialism into awareness of pdf members... and no sensible person can deny the sense in these posts...

then you are one of the lucky ones... but it is not by coincidence that india is "suicide capital".

Atleast he is called Slumdog CEO, You and i are called slumdog. He is very better than us.

don't pull me into the gutter.

And everybody working as a salaried employee is not a coolie.

a few do work of their choice, like in fashion or films or music, but most do jobs to earn survival money.

You don't know boss, a lot. Get out of your cage.

who do you know who does business?? who do you know who has recently dropped out of jobs and started business??

Who needs your respect maann..

if anyone claims to achieved high status in computing, they need to get respect from people with real achievements... common sense.

so some gradutates from IITs get more than twice than the PHDs from stanford? whats your point
  1. Who mentioned PhDs?
  2. Are those base/fixed salaries or does that include bonus based on performance? Does IIT provide a breakup on that?
  3. If you are interested you can start by looking at Facebook salaries at glassdoor.com for their Menlo PaRk location
  4. Doesn't it sound curious that while the max of MS salaries at Stanford Does not exceed $175k but it goes to $340k for Indian recruits? I'm not saying IITians can't get more, I'm sure some IiT guys can be smarter but 2X salaries?

i am involved ( with a few others ) in the design of a clock-less microprocessor, which will have its own microprocessor... a unique project, truly.

I have VLSI as a subject, but not an expert in it. By Clock less mechanism, do you mean the presence of numerous local clock, and not a overall controlling clock, or by handshake mechanism?

It's much harder to find a job with a PhD than without a PhD in few streams. And it doesn't mean that being from Stanford qualifies you for a much better Payscale, they compete with median level universities in the job market, and in most cases, the median level students takes the cake.

One of my room mate got hired in BofA for a package of $115k, another one in Bloomberg for $150k. And they competed with students from Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, and Carnegie Melon in the interviews. Neither they were department toppers, neither my university ranks within top 20 in US. It's the individual merit in their respective fields that got them hired.

the instructions are executed without clock... they are very few in number ( less than 20 ) and highly optimized ( fixed-length, fixed-format, self-jumping )... they are allowed to execute until the whole operation is finished ( single-cycle ).

you are correct... handshake mechanism is used, not only for instruction execution but also in the i/o system ( clock-less serial i/o ).

i am not yet decided on whether to include a timer on chip ( timer for general external use ).
