What's new

FA-50 and JF-17 are the finalists for Malaysian Air Force's Deal: Korea Times

. . .
my only guess is that the Malaysian LCA tender was designed for LIFT category .... not for fighter jets ... therefore after receiving documents they might have decided not to participate
Then why is it LCA tender and not a LIFT tender :)

.
We do have JF-17B which fits in that role.
may be but PAF describe JF-17B as fighter jet not as LIFT .... though It can be employed as LIFT as well
Then why is it LCA tender and not a LIFT tender :)
might be because they are seeking limited fighting capability, KAI (FA-50), TAI (Hürjet note: Hürjet is still under development), CATIC (L-15), Leonardo (M-346) have limited weapon carrying capability.

Jf17 easy win. There’s no comparison
all of the Malaysian Brothers have their heads on right, yes JF17 is an ready win given that it's a very capable and s true multi role fighter with no political strings attached which fa50 comes with an amreekan engine (I think) and other european avionics that'll come with a some lotta political, financial & social strings attached almost right after delivery.
