Just when you thought the F-INSAS trail had gone cold, it seems it it going healthy:

If anyone can manage to attend it looks like it would be pretty rewarding. (and of course us members on PDF wouldn't mind it if you shared a few details!!)

We will most likely get an update on FINSAS program. I actually believed earlier that the project is derailed simply because this is the first time in years that our scientists have kept a project as secret (if its going as per scheduled).

According to what i have learned IA's modernization plan starts with projects like Battlefield Management System, Tactical Communication System and then followed by FINSAS.

But the problem is FINSAS will be operational at first followed by TCS and then BMS. The order was important because now even if FINSAS enters in service the soldiers won't be able to use it fully until BMS and TCS becomes operational.

Between TCS and BMS it looks like BMS is getting more delayed than TCS. TCS should have started by now as it was awarded to BEL in a competition between private sector and BEL which was criticized because earlier government said this 2 billion $ project will be given to private sector. If it would have been given to a private company the work would have already started.

Same is the case with BMS which also include track and wheeled based ground stations but work is going at very very slow pace. Its also a 2 billion$ project. All these projects were sipposed to be carried out just like FICV program but now it lloks like all of them will go to public sector....
