F-35 myths and facts

But the question is why the F35 received so much negative press? What was in it for the people who spread these "rumours" about the F35?

F-35 is largest military project ever, so it attracts many haters. Lots of hate comes from Russian propaganda sites. Sometimes F-35 haters have completely opposite rationales. For example for Piere Sprey F-35 is too expensive and complicated he wants small cheap aircraft without radars (he hated the F-15 and did not want the F-16 to have a radar). On the other hand Carlo Kopp, hates the F-35 because it is too small and wants the F-22 instead...

Back to myths

10) F-35 is too fat, has huge cross section

Here F-35 in comparison to F-18E and Rafale:

As we can see F-35's cross section is very similar, despite the fact that F-35 carries weapons and much more fuel internally.

.
F-22 F-35 mix is similar to F-15 F-16 mix. F-15 is better than F-16 air to air, but still F-16 is very capable and many leading air forces around the world rely only on F-16 in air to air role.

F-35 and Su-34 are strike category. F-15C / 22 and Su-27 / 35 are large single seat multi role category. F-15E and Su-30 are large tandem seat multi role category. F-16 and MiG-29 / 35 are medium multi role category. A-10 and Su-25 are close air support category.

Sure, you can replace F-16 with F-35, but the two don't have the same category.

F-15C is not multirole, its pure air to air.
MiG-29 is also pure air to air (frontline fighter).
Su-34 is not strike fighter but frontline bomber.

F-35 is multirole fighter.

F-35 is multirole fighter.

F-15C and F-22 started off air to air only and now they are full multi role. F-22 used JDAM against ISIS in Syria starting in 2014. MiG-29 / 35 have always been multi role. They are now armed with smart bombs and equipped with targeting pods. Su-34 is strike fighter, mainly for strike and armed with R-77 and R-73 for defense. F-35 is for strike that's why it's called JSF Joint Strike Fighter armed with AIM-120 and AIM-9 for defense. F-35 is not built for multi role so it's only Mach 1.6 to Mach 1.8. Planes built for multi role are all well over Mach 2.

I know u can never admit you are wrong and only come here to troll. I am explaining it for others who u might mislead.

1) F-15C and MiG-29 are pure fighters. You can attach dumb bombs to them but it does not make them multirole. They lack guided air to ground weapons and ground targeting systems.
2) Su-34 is a bomber. It can carry air to air missiles only for self defence (just like Su-24). It is not designed to perform any air to air mission.
4) F-22 can carry guided SDB-II bombs and JDAM bombs. It lacks EO targeting system though. So it is limited multirole.
3) F-35 is pure multirole fighter. I brought u a clear proof from the official brochure. It is designed for both offensive counter air and defensive counter air missions.

That's complete bull. All modern combat jets are multi role.

A-10, Su-25, Su-34 can't defend themselves from air defense jets, they have only short range air to air missile for deffense @undertakerwwefan :p: they are basically CAS (CLOSE AIR SUPPORT) and strike jets @undertakerwwefan ;):enjoy:

Oh common F-35 has lost to F-16 and everyone knows it
in just one case @WarKa DaNG :p:exception is happen at any time, that doesn't meant that F-35 is useless/crap @WarKa DaNG ;):):enjoy:

Yeah I mean I was referring to planes that got radars, not planes that don't got radars like A-10 and Su-25.
Fighter jets designed on a mission not all modern jet are multirole, they designed upon mission perspective, if you look F-15C/D it is basically Air defense fighter but rearly use as strike and CAS platform, its doesn't mean it not have capabilities to engage ground targets but good at air defense role & secondary mission is CAS/Strike, whereas F-16 is the first truly multi-role jet and Same goes to F-22/F-35 combo, Su-27/Mig-29 combo, Su-57/ upcomming LMFS combo, J-11/J-10, J-20/J-31 combo @undertakerwwefan :p:;):enjoy:

Whatever dude. Planes like F-15E which is developed from F-15D combat capable trainer and Su-30 which is developed from Su-27UB combat capable trainer are good in both air to air and air to surface. These planes need to be twin seater, typically tandem.

.
1) 4th gen aircraft will remain the backbone of all air forces for decades.
2) Many F-35 critics say that even 4th gen will beat it in air to air.

It depends on what these 4th gen aircraft are carrying.

There is very little chance that Pakfa and J-20 can beat the F-22. Stealth becomes the decisive factor in air to air and F-35 has excellent stealth. According to some reports in can beat even the F-22 in stealth.

The F-35 has better stealth and avionics than the F-22. But the F-22 will beat the F-35 in air combat.

But the question is why the F35 received so much negative press? What was in it for the people who spread these "rumours" about the F35?

The negative press is due to the obscene delays in the program. Kinda like why LCA has been criticised as well.

VERSION OF F-15D NOT ACTUAL F-15D CAN'T DO CAS/STRIKE IN SIMILAR MANNER THAT F-15E DOES AND SAME GOES TO SU-27 SERIES @undertakerwwefan :p::enjoy:;)
