But then u cannot ignore the fact that America has spent a lot of money in Afghanistan war and it will continue to spend more, if Pakistan retreats its support & Americans are completely aware of this fact, so will they not give f-16's to Pakistan? I think not

India clearly knows that. US can't withdraw support to Pak. So India can use this statement to disqualify F18 on some account.

US is pressurizing India to go in for F18 or F16. After this statement if US still supports Pak(which we know it will), we will get an excuse to choose Typhoon or Rafale. Otherwise US will keep pressurizing us to go for F18.

My point - from the beginning that they WILL SELL TO YOU GUYS THE MAX EFFECT I SEE is that it might just get delayed if at all anything happens but thats about it.

they can not do that. All the civil reactors would be monitored by their and our officials. Also we don't buy complete package. Its like we buy the reactors from Russia, Uranium from Australia, Hard water from Canada, turbines from US, control rods from US, etc etc.

All the things combined make a nuclear reactor and its never bought from the same country. So our reactors would be pretty safe.
