You mean Multi Role,

swing role and muti-role is not exactly the same.

while a multi-role aircraft can carry both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons ,in a particular mission it carries weapons dedicated to one of these .

for example , for a strike mission , an f-16 may carry several laser guided bombs , but the air-to-air weaponry is limited to a couple of air-to-air-missiles for self defence.

the rafale's manufacturers claim that it can carry several laser guided bombs and no less than six mica air-to-air missiles in a single mission ,as it has enormous external stores carrying capacity , for which 13 hardpoints have been provided.

this ,they claim ,is true swing role capacity.

If GOI decides to buy 1980s crackpot F-16s, then I would suggest Indian's are the most subservient to US, corrupt, cowards and dumb people on the planet. Who so ever buys F-16s these days in favor of other advanced A/Cs comes under the same category.

my dad asked some of the pilots @ pune flying SU,they are much in favour of rafale because of french origin while most of them had xperince with mirage m2k..nobody even talk about F16/18,EF,gripenand mig35.....

yes ,india had an extremely good experience with the mirage -2000 ,and even in the past IAF pilots wanted more mirages.......but the govt never responded........

be as it may , i wonder why the at least the eurofighter should not be considered.

it has the ability to fly at 65,000 feet ,which other fighters cant match.

Who said it is not flying! Even RC plane can also fly!!!!!! It look like you guys are really happy that atleast it is flying now after 30 years with so called indian indigenous equipment which was purchased from france, israel, USA, and many more....
