F-15 breakup simulation

The F-15 was obviously suffering structural weakness, because the fuselage simply broke off due to high wind resistance pressure on it as it attempted to level out in flight. Perhaps too much flying has caused most if not all of the F-15 fleets planes to be weaked over time. I think it will be pretty hard to repair this design fault, and we may see the end of the F-15 like the Concord was retired after 1 plane crashed. They may decide to unground the F-15s until the F-35 can take over though.

I always predicted the F-15 would retire before the F-16.

It wasn't metal fatigue but the two pieces where the plane breaks up in the video---they were fabricated too thin in the original production. That is what the excuse is. Other than that they want to push for the RAPTOR in larger numbers---i am pretty sure the USAF is going to get what it wants.

USAF pilots are very aggressive flyers---metal fatigue and strain is very abundant in the planes---just imagine if the plane has thrust vectoring---then calculate how much more stress is put on that air frame and the pilot. With the massive G forces faced due to thrust vectoring in the up coming aircrafts, metal fatigue is going to be the foremost issue alongwith the pilot "RED OUT" problems.

There is not going to be any repairs to that design fault due to high cost involved. That model of F 15 will be retired. The newer ones would fly till the raptor and other planes take its place.

USAF gets caught with its pants down---it is not possible. There is more to the story.

So it means that the age of F-15 is just over and they are slowley going to be out of the game ... But its A nice plane

Actually, the number of F-22s to be inducted has been scaled down due to the extremely high production and operating costs. The USAF is waiting for the F-35 to make up for the reduced numbers.

Yes the number of F 22's was scaled down long before the F 15 mid air tear up. All F 15's of that vintage are permanently grounded. USAF has a new not anticipated crisis at hand now---F 22 or F 35's. They will get more of them.

I read somewhere that an Israeli F15 had half a wing fall of yet it still landed.

I agree with MASTER KHAN. looks like the farmer blew the whistle on the Air Force He did'nt mention any break-ups just loss of Power.( EF). But again at that hight you can restart the sequence 2 times before you eject. Strange.The FarmerI saw one of them make a loop and start to lose altitude," he said.
