ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan’s exports of merchandise fell short by over $2.8 billion in the fiscal year (outgoing), the third consecutive year in which PML-N failed to achieve targets.

The government had projected an export target of $27bn for 2014-15, but actual export proceeds stood at $24.2bn.

One of the major factors of decline in exports is concentration of exports in textile and clothing which constitute as much as 50pc. Exporters blame the ministry of textile industry for its failure to guide the industry.

I am not sure not been following ....prob and hopefully is my only answer
Hopefully! Maybe someone else in the field can shed some light....
in real value, our exports have decreased by nearly 3%.
we are the only country in the whole region whose exports are going down

this is despite having GPS PLUS Status.. imagine the situation without it

The question pakistani seem to forget is that their market is being taken over by the chinese , If exports are falling now ,Just imagine what will happen when the CPEC becomes fully functional .I am not saying this out of spite or anything ,i dont have anything against CPEC .But this aspect of the CPEC seems to be never discussed by pakistanis (dont know why). Chinese companies have far more resources and technology than both india & pakistan combined and produce a relatively reliable products ,they have the ability to totally take the market share of indigenous companies. Before making the chinese in to the market ,indigenous companies should be sufficiently protected otherwise it would harm long term interests..

why do you think PPPP always win in sindh?

apply the same logic to PML N.

there was an anomaly in southern Punjab due to benazir, allowing PPPP to form govt in center with other parties(even though PML N always won in Punjab province) that anomaly has gone..

now PML N will always win in Punjab , CENTER and PPPP in sindh

Baluchistan is feudal province with winners belonging to the center winner.

KPK is anomaly in Pakistan with every govt having a chance due to open view of urban areas. (Therefore kpk has seen govts of ANP, PMLN, PPPP,MMA and PTI)

In KPK periphery there will be battle against conservatives and nationalists, Hazara belongs to PML N (except the urban areas)
