Snide comments aside 125 billion in IT exports for a country the size of India is as non-diversified as ours is, depending on garments.

India and Bangladesh both need to diversify exports.

However for our size of country in Bangladesh, we're not doing badly in terms of total exports.

Bangladesh is roughly the size of Bihar, UP or Orissa.

we've increased manufacturing exports- I think are in the top 5 auto manufacturers/ exporters now.

Brutal!

Plus the services exports added to that (broadly split into IT products, call centres and BPO to begin with) to add further diversification this fellow is crying about.

About 160 billion USD of that which is about half of the goods exports (which in turn are already way more diverse than BD can dream of being)....means about 1/3rd dependence for India.....whereas BD exports about 3 billion in services and 35 billion in goods, 90% of which seem to be RMG/textile....so at best a 85% dependence for BD....roughly three times worse than India. This is all going by the assumption that service export in India is one monolith for sake of argument. Poor Bilal
