All the trolls were scaremongering by predicting a currency crisis.

I just could not take these trolls seriously because I could see exports were on the up.

A country can never be in trouble when it is producing and selling more.

It’s just basic logic!!

All Bangladesh needed was to strangulate imports for 6 months - evidenced by massive drop in containers coming into Chittagong - and we are going to sail through as a result!

Same kind of pragmatism and humility was employed by Hasina during covid. She is an extraordinary leader at crisis management.

Idiots!

Eat some humble pie!

The whore is not coming back to power!

Btw, @Imran Khan Pakistan is in serious trouble because its export have fallen off the cliff!

Honestly the speed with which our own countrymen would write BD's obituary was surprising.

Not only that, some groups actively worked to ensure maximum damage. An insight into a true fifth column that exists - and they're the ones agitating for democracy!

They are not agitating for democracy.

They just want Uncle Sam to engineer a coup to propel the whore back to power.

No, some of us just want democracy and rule of law to exist in BD. It does not matter who is in power as long as they have the consent of the people.

There can not be rule of law if the highest office is held illegitimately.

Most certainly we do not want any foreign interference or say in BD be it india, us, china or anyone.

BD first and its people foremost is the only creed for some of us.

Of course there can be rule of law work without proper democracy.

BD is in pole position to become “middle-income” nation by 2030 and some people are not happy.

Whatever could replace Hasina and BAL will probably dampen GDP growth and lead to political instability.

BD people are the luckiest in the whole region in terms of governance and they are generally satisfied with this.

Democracy can come in the 2030s when BD economy is on a more solid-footing and the population is reasonably educated.

Dude!

There is zero relationship between rule of law and democracy.

Post Saddam democratic Iraq is the ultimate proof.

India and Middle East is another. Whose street would you feel safe in?

I really have no idea why a sane poster like @mb444
thinks it is a good idea to allow the uneducated poor masses to vote for charlatans and chancers who will promise them the world to get elected.

The problem in BD is there are no proper checks and balances at this time on the judiciary and central bank to make any democratic government run the country lawfully and competently.

Hasina and her effective team are the best that BD has right now and they have delivered the world’s fastest economic growth for any major developing country.

You would have to be insane to want a change now.

Because it is not for you or BAL to dictate anything to the people.

If you can not put to the people your record of governance and win then you do not deserve to rule. Its really quite simple democracy.... those who stands against against it against the people of Bangladesh and her interest.

Saying our people are too ill educated to choose their future is the position of anti BD fifth columnists. It is the same people who fought the Brits, its the same people who created and voted in muslim league to create pakistan, the same people who fought for Bangla, the same people who voted for BAL and and fought to establish BD.

You forget our history, BD was created on the back of the democratic will of our people. No mealy mouth nonsense about economy remotely has any relevance or establishes slightest bit of legitimacy for BAL. As i keep saying if BAL is competent they have nothing to fear. Only dictator fears the will of the people.

BD and her people is greater than BAL and it should never be the other way around.

Your post is basically let us go back to the chaos and kill the current growth in favour of letting every person have a vote every 5 years.

We will have to agree to disagree and most BD people are not anyway wanting a change from BAL rule.

It is the same people who fought the Brits,

And lost and ushered in 300 years of slavery.

Two famines, under British, permanently altered our DNA making us much more susceptible to type 2 diabetes!!

The geniuses also resisted western education whilst the Hindus took it like duck to water!!!

Thereby sealing another 100 years of semi slavery!

The tiny exception, I would say, were the Sylhetis, who voted to join Pakistan and got on the boat to Britain. Thus giving Sylhet a giant boost compared to the rest of Bangladesh.

Average Bangladeshi is incapable of critical thinking, far too easily manipulated by illiterate mullahs, hence not ready for democracy.

Get educated then get the vote. That’s how the west did it.

West started off with limited franchise and extended it gradually over 200 years.

Agreeing to disagree is fine. People has different views, consensus is unnecessary.

Economic development is now baked in. I do not see politics making too much difference to it.

you guys are ardent BAL supporters, which i assume from anecdotal evidence then it is my belief that your position is because you know BAL does not have the support of the people.

My political position is anti-BAL because I know personally the top echelons of the organisation and its disfunction. But I am not pro BNP. I am perfectly happy for BAL to carry on if they win a popular vote. BD politics does not impact me and I am politically agnostic. I simply want good governance.

I am telling you what very few will tell you. I am writing this from the Dhaka club at this moment just gone past midnight. BAL, BNP, JP and Jammat leadership is here drinking and playing snooker together. There is very little between them politically and all are connected. But BAL staying in power illigimately is doing great harm. I know you think it is not, but really is. Everyone wants stability, smooth rotating transition of power is the true way to establish that. BAL leadership is fully aware of this and transition planning is well underway.

Radwan is fully engaged with Tariq. A deal is in the offing.

Maybe your DNA was changed dude.

Some of us are from families educated from the inception of Aligarh and then Dhaka uni followed by last 3 generation educated in UK.

Your disdain for the people of Bangladesh is frankly awful and I very much doubt you are BD. I have never heard anyone speak like you, your position does not reflect even the furthest extreme of BD political opinion of the leadership.

Your proposal to disenfranchise the people of the country is the recipe for revolution and generational damage.

Your ability to predict the future is on par with @bluesky

That last sentence will haunt you 🤣🤣🤣

And will be thrown at you until you die!!

Lol.... you really are funny on how to fail so consistently. Here is a quote from the article you posted.

"Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen argues, linking this inequality to what he describes as the fundamentally undemocratic nature of the British Empire"

You need to obtain a modicum of education and understand the fundamental requisite of democracy for a society. You are just a walking cliche of an uneducated country bumpkin shyleti, which I suspect you are not as you failed to respond to other posters in shyleti.

Hey @BananaRepublicUK post a voice message about your views on BAL. I am in Dhaka club now. I will get a BAL presidium member to respond to you on video in a few minutes.

Wow!

Democracy is pre-requisite for prosperity.

So why is democratic India piss poor and autocratic China roaring ahead?

Selectively quoting doesn’t make you intelligent. Just a bum who can cut and paste!

You are so typical of the Hizb idiots!!!
