Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

Hi, I highly doubt Turkey would be interested in the JF-17. The already license produce the F-16 and have a stake in the F-35. Take care.

Turkey have f-35 and euro fighter in front line , f-16 block 50+ and may be future supplement with block 60 and KFX in the second line of defence but to Replace their aging fleet of 200 f-4 they don't have any option available .so i think pakistan and china can exploit this vacancy by providing JF-17 as the cost of this fighter will be much less then f-16/KFX .to reduced maintainance problem euro200 engine can be offer as they are having euro fighter or with chinese engine if they want and if possible a trainer variant of JF-17 will be more lucrative option for turkey.

-Says aircraft to be equiped with cruise missile, air borne warning systems

Islamabad – Every inch of air boundaries of the homeland is in safe hands as we have sophisticated, advanced conventional and non-conventional arsenals. We are capable to sale out to those who want to save and strengthen their air defense, especially through the pride and state of the art fighter jet “JF-17 Thunder”.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman said, while sharing views exclusively with foreign media hocks. We have already increased the production docks for the JF-17 Thunder from four to six, to assemble 25 aircraft every year. Pakistan is now going to join the fighter air craft selling club. Our state of the art fighter JF -17 is an improved version of China’s new generation fighter jet.

“We have bright prospects in the international aviation market because it’s especial features, like all weather flight, light weight, advanced and supreme avionics essential for a modern combat system, and much less maintenance and operational cost, compared to the other fighter planes of its class”. Air Chief added.

Rao Qamar said Pakistan intends to purchase at least three or four Chinese surface-to-air missiles including the advanced Hong Qi-18 (HQ-18), with a maximum range of 100 kilometers to intercept the system.

He said their interception capabilities are taking place between a low level 25 meter to an altitude of 25 kilometers and can intercept even any short range ballistic missiles, aircraft or cruise missiles as well. These missiles system is based upon the Russian S-300V1 type 2 (SA-12A”Gladiator”).

He told the foreign media hocks that they are getting Chinese ZDK-03 air borne warning and control system too and the delivery will be start soon. "We are also thinking about the Chinese engines but we have to examine its quality and capability before the final decision, whether it would be able to fulfill our requirement or not", he said.

Commenting on cooperation in military research and development, he said china and Pakistan will continue to work together in all the areas, there is no lack of trust. We have already jointly achieved a lot of targets successfully.

Some corrections. We operate at most 150 F-4s(Probably far less in service at this point). Majority are retired/spare parts/ or non operational storage. The ones we operate include 3 (recently changed from 2) squadrons of 2020 Terminators for strike missions. 2 Squadrons of F-4E (with minor upgrades) as interceptors and finally 2 Squadrons of RF-4s (Recon variants) Most of our F-5s are retired and the ones in service have been upgraded and moved to advanced pilot training roles(around 70-75 in service). We currently operate around 216 F-16s With what looks like all (block 40 and Block 50s) being upgraded to 50+ CCIP standard with AIM-9X integration. Block 30s will undergo minor upgrades under (TAI).

Now we have 100 F-35s at least ordered. That looks to replace all our F-4s and possibly leave the terminators operational. We have also started our own fighter program which most likely will fall into replacing possibly the Terminators if we keep them till 2020 and probably the F-16 Block 30s as those look to have not been included in the CCIP program. That would leave CCIP 50+ variant F-16s in service F-35s in service and our own fighter aircraft in service. So there would be no need for the JF-17 as those would fill all our needed roles better then the JF-17 can. We are also not on a budget and can spend a fair amount of money.

I see you are coming straight from BR forum, hmm. See the ripples around the aircraft? Do you know how much pressure any aircraft bears when going vertical? Go find out stress, fatigue testing procedure then come and argue. Oil leaks is a regular phenomena in all machinery, dont tell me your car never leaked it....... You guys dont come here to contribute, only to flame and ruin a nice thread. Mods must take notice

Didn't PAF say they were going to stat making these out of carbon composite soon, when's that going to happen. Plus what happened to Indonesia they were supposed to announce something about the aircraft in October 2010

All the things in that pic are normal, as for the what is claimed to be oil, that can be found on some pics of Indian Su-30 MKIs

Stop posting the old shyt here. We know what JF-17 is and how it evolved.

The plans you posted are not even similar to JF-17.

Notice the Engine intakes and the tail plane on this and the new JF-17. Not to mention the Avionics.

Every aircraft borrows some part of it's design from it's predecessors.

Please don't post this type of non-sense again.

When he says three or four Chinese missiles, does he mean three or four in terms of quantity of the system being purchased, or three -four different systems?

I think he means three - four layered defense system.

.
Four different systems were evaluated among which most preferred option is the HQ-18 based on HQ-9, which is based on S-300 Gladiator..... With this induction, our SAM coverage will become comprehensive as low end is more than adequately covered, medium end is SPADA and HQ-2B, and high end is most likely the HQ-18....
