Police have confirmed a bomb was set off at a restaurant in a city close to Toronto, Canada, critically injuring three people.

The explosion happened at Bombay Bhel Restaurant in the city of Mississauga, Ontario.

Police released a picture of two suspects on Twitter.

They said "2 suspects attended the scene, detonated an Improvised Explosive Device within the restaurant.

"Several injured were taken to local hospital and 3 in critical condition were taken to a Toronto Trauma Centre.

Peel Paramedics said they have taken 15 people to hospital, including three who have "critical blast injuries."
