I don't know which country the author is talking about...

in reality 90 percent of Pakistanis are against talibans... (some senior members will provide the link soon or I request them to provide the link)...

Every other Suicide attack is accepted by talibans and also blamed by government officials on to Taliban...

MQM is beating the drum of Talibanization in Karachi for quiet a long time and by democracy they represent the majority of Karachi...

So I think the author should test his/her eyes and ears coz he's unable to see and listen what's going around in Pakistan these days...

Sunday, 11 Jul, 2010 Whenever there are rumours of a military coup, pray they are true. Explain that democracy and secularism are deeply flawed and have destroyed the world. Totalitarian monarchies with entrenched security and bureaucracies are much better and in line with our Arab origins. Please do not compare us to Indians. * In case of a suicide attack in a mosque or a shrine (in Punjab), just utter the following two words: “Blackwater and America.” In case of a similar suicide attack in Karachi, just say: “MQM!”

So you think its not true people are in denial and they dont come with these sort of excuse like MQM is responsible , even on PDF we had several members blaming MQM and Zardari for Ashura bombings , Have you been through the thread attacks on ahmedis and attack on data darbar where lots of members think that it was atack by foriegnors ..... Dont you think we keep blaming and asking for removal of zardari on all terrorists acts !?

Why people ask about removal of zardari is because of his bad governance not because they think that he's the cause of Suicidal attack...

So you do agree people have such views the issue but you think the % is small not large , where as i agree with the author and think it is otherwise , this the what i get when watching media and listning to people on different forums , i will see if i can find a source to confirm that a lot of Pakistanis do sympathise with Talibans and extremists . mqm or zardari wil fade away with time but Pakistan has to and will exist untill Qayamat . We have this nightmare right now , i am sure me you or any one dont want this to effect our next genaration.,So the point is to change such views and we as a country to put a full stop finding the usual escape goats and start taking responsibility.

On the other hand coming back to your reference of middleclass , well its not a majority isit , Pakistan is largely an urban area and majority is poor so here is my point.

my friend you talked about karachi ashura,data darbar but again like i said before mohammand agency alone more people died then all 3 events combined and yet no mention so like i said before YOUR NADEEM PARACHA SHOULD HAVE ADDED:

Pakistanis believe pakistan consists of 2 provinces (punjab,sindh) & 3 cities(karachi,islamabad & lahore)!!
