That's an old story now the vote is divided. I am a voter of MQM but now I don't give an F to these target killer terrorists. They had destroyed the whole fabric of Muhajir culture. I seldom see visionary persons in Urdu speaking community, either they been migrated to other countries or been long gone because of new breed had lost in last 3 decades. They killed our education which was our pride, All I see around me a Gutka chewing ruined youth having no vision towards life.

You had no choice but to cheer and vote for him. I've lived in karachi and have seen it first hand. The mqm goons walk into polling booths with you and also put the word out on the streets that if they don't win the seat in that area, they will randomly pick and choose people from that area to shoot dead out of no where until the next elections. That's why most people would vote for him out of fear and vehemently protest if mqm would loose a seat. Outwardly, they would that they are protesting because they love the mqm and altaf "bhai" and blah blah blah but inwardly, they are trying to make themselves visible to show the mqm mafia "that see? I'm actually protesting in your favor so please spare me and my family from your target killers". Hence the high level of target killing that we saw up until two years ago. I've seen it all man.

He is fighting for ppl (muhajir) who went to Pakistan after partition from India.

You're quite wrong. He's fighting for personal gains and ambitions.

Most Muhajirs don't even support him at all.

His party was responsible for many riots that caused the deaths of thousands of innocent people. He uses various thugs and gangs to coerce locals into voting for his party. He uses target killers against anyone that speaks against or is seen as a rival to his party. He himself was personally responsible for the murder of many high-ranking individuals. He sees business in chaos and violence. His party is the reason why Karachi has become such a mess now (pre-Ranger intervention).

Our Prime Minister is a Kashmiri Muhajir.

He is irrelevant now. But in order to make sure another Altaf Hussain doesnt raise head from outside the genuine concerns of Urdu speaking Karachites need to be addressed like the quota system introduced by Bhutto.
