Exclusive: Japan, U.S. discussing offensive military capability for Tokyo - Japan officials

Every single destroyer in the JMSDF should have cruise missiles, from Atago, Kongo, Shirane, Akizuki classes.

Our Light Carriers should also be equipped with cruise missiles; the Hyuga and Izumo classes.
I believe the Chinese will not be amused. with offensive weapons, you will become a global military power on a par with America, China and Russia. and if you add nuclear card into inventory, you will be a nightmare for all.

interesting development.

simply, no one has any right to stop Vietnam develop our own offensive weapons. Vietnam is not the loser in any war.
It's our backward and poorness make its effect.

that is not fair. how about the US giving Vietnam offensive capability too?

First, Vietnam needs to sign a military partnership with both Japan and the US. This might lead to souring of relations with the Ruskies, but hey, Vietnam has to look after her own interests.

I believe the Chinese will not be amused. with offensive weapons, you will become a global military power after America and China.

They accede to the fact that we are normalizing our military forces.

When the 2nd Ford Class aircraft carrier is finished (2020) we will be replacing the first of the Nimitz class carriers with it. (USS Ford replaces an Enterprise class)

Wonder where it will go....

and thats one of the most effective tricks USA always perform when they want to contain any opponent.its always allies and not USA only, which generally faces any opponent.be it NATO,SEATO,CENTO or others, they always find suitable partners.and thats what gives them power.they never carry the war back into their country.they fight the enemy in their land.
