Every Singh isn't Sikh, many are Hindus

I've been see time and again this natural assumption on this forum and in turn in general pakistanis to presume that 'every man with a singh surname is sikh' which far from the truth. @StormBreaker

Singh surname is NOT only used by Sikh men.
But also by Singh surname are also used by Hindu Rajputs, Hindu Jaats, Hindu Ahir/Yadav caste, Hindu Dogra.
In fact all the men who use singh surname, some 80% could be Hindus.

Some prominent Hindus with Singhs surnames you may know.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni- Cricketer
Raja Mann Singh- Akbar's Hindu General
Raja Hari Singh- Hindu Dogra king of J&K during accession

Not at all. There are certain core principales like Karm, Dharm and Non violence which will automatically exclude someone trying to introduce rape or murder as part of religion.

This is thread is made purely to dispel the misconception with the pakistani people that Singh surnames must be of Sikhs, but the fact is Singh is caste surname of many Hindus too.

Of rape, i tell u, it carried death sentence in Hindu Manusmriti( Ancient Hindu code of law) and there no requirement of four witnesses.

Which significant text of Sanatan Dharm do mention devdasi system?
