What's new

Every Sci-Fi fan has to watch Disctric 9

Is it safe to download the movies from the torrent sites , i used to do it first , however one of my friend got a letter from one of the movie company about copyright infringement and notice to pay $2000 ,he never did but you know why to take chance.

Obvious Scam is Obvious... People will write letters under the heading of the company name saying send them a certain amount of money with all your info.. 99% of the time its a scam.

On the other hand why are you guys ruining your experience by watching it on a Cam Print anyways? Its a great if you have the means to watch it in the Theatre do so and support the folks who made the film.. If you don't than i guess wait for the DVD and if you are really impatient than i suppose you can download it but watch a Divx print.. the cam one won't do justice becuase some scenes are shot in a documentary style.

Disctrict 9 first shown in Mid August 2006, was intended to be a fictional documentary by Neill Blomkamp

I am sooooooo mad. I watched a crappy print. And then i watched the trailer on the HD. I wasted a brilliant piece...

i too got crappy print with russian subtitles could'nt watch, waiting for the hd print

Loved it as well. After the brain dead run of Transformers/GIJoe/Comic movies it was nice seeing something different. Hoping Inglorious Basterds is as good as they're raving.

I just watched the movie......superb! totally different from usual hollywood. Am sure there will be a part 2. man am gonna see it again!

9.5/10

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's probably because "Hollywood" didn't have anything to do with District 9.

Anyway, Just saw it. It was absolutely brilliant!

I gave it a solid 8/10.

Yeah it seems like a great movie. I found a pretty good print of it on megavideo so will watch it right now.

Am sure u r right bcoz events are happening in SouthAfrica and the cast is no familiar to me. Even though i couldnt find any usual hollywood mainstream actors, it was produced by Peter Jackson, who was the producer and screenwriter of Lord of the Rings and King Kong. So it still carry Hollywood DNA, I believe.

Peter Jackson simply financed the project with his $30 million. The movie is based on a short film called "Alive in Joburg" from 2005. The director and story writer for that movie was Neill Blomkamp.

District 9 is written and directed by Neill Blomkamp. I'd say his effort in creating a master piece with such a low budget (Transformers 2 had a budget of $200 Million) is a slap on the face of Hollywood, which is only busy producing tasteless PG-13 junk to attract a larger audience which ultimately results in producing gigantic profits for them.
