Every Country has Army, Pakistan Army has a country

Unfortunately thats in the US, and this is Pakistan we are talking about. There is a different culture there and a different mindset. And im not the only one who's saying it, by the looks of it, the reporter of the article also thought along the same lines.

Whether they command respect or not, retired officers are still civilians. End of story.

In this part of the world, we have a volunteer army which has to do a full tenure, possibly unlike the US Army.

Retired officers are not taken as civilians since we are on the reserve list.

Get to know more about the world and do not superimpose the US way of things as the 'universal' mode and that the US is the "bestest, mostest, greatest, richest, powerfulest" and all the other good adjectives in the dictionary.

The US is a great country, but this aspect that they alone should be taken as the benchmark in all aspect of life is what gets other peoples' goat!

The other aspect that rankles is that they are quick on the draw and with 'facts' full of flaw!

Be patient and get into the habit of knowing about other peoples and learn to read and not be superficial!

Do you really feel that there are no other people in the world who are also human beings and breathe Nature's fresh air?

It's an article that emanated from my university... Which is owned by BB. Lol I ripped their arguments apart, it was funny then slowly more and more students got vocal :D. I've bowed out from that debate since I had no interest in student activism. I find it quite shameful that politicians would use academic institutions to promote a political opinion.

Most of this is just BS. Notice the amount of RETIRED army men in that list?

.
That's interesting! Author of the article writes regularly.
I think it's perhaps a co-incidence that theme of the article matches to your University debate. Even if it incorporate your inputs, we should credit the effort to document such a valuable debate. ;)
I'm even totally ignorant of any University owned by BB.
There is one named 'ZABS University' are you talking of same?

I fully agree with this article, PA has become more than an army, its the biggest MAFIA we have in Pakistan.. A very sorry state indeed. Its the only country on this Planet where from economic policy to Foreign policy is made in GHQ !!!! Nothing will change in Pakistan till these 3rd rated army Generals are making descsions...

.
Pakistan needs a powerful army especially when Pakistan has so many threats coming from every corner.

listen i have been interviewing with a lot of companies for internships in the US and the first thing any company asks me what is your leadership experience. this means that people in every company and in every part of the world look for employees that have leadership experience and who in the world has better experience than people in the army. all the major companies are structured in their hierarchy as the army, there executives take a lot of leadership development programs that were first taught in the US military. most of the retired generals in the US military actually go and sit and become board of members of different companies. in the beginning the iraq reconstruction effort was handled by a retired general from the US military. this is just another indian posting something that is common in the world and all the indians on this forum having a field day bashing the pakistani military.

.
The complete saying goes like this....

Ever country has a Army but Turkish Army and Pakistan Army have their Countries.

.
Hmm. Really it is good to have debate but i smell a politically motivated *** behind this...

.
Even though this over influence of army is not desirable in the civilian administration. The opening available to them after army will help the young people motivated to join the pakistani army. Here in india we are facing shortages of officers, and now army is marketing the lavish lifstyle followed by officers for recuritment. I hope we stop marketing the lavish style and give them more experience and pay which can help them in future careerr..!!! Army gets its people and India gets quality citizens after serving in army..!!!

.
I notice that most of the people on that list are retired. Once a person is retired, he is a civilian. Therefore, you are wrong to include them in the list of "army men in civilian posts".

So what are his qualification to get these post.
Do he appear in exams for these posts if so then all army men should be intelligent in pak and no one is worth more than them.

In every country there will exams for getting these powerful posts in country.
Weather he is from army or civilian he has to go through this exam.
but In Pak it seems get into army and get these positions.
here it looks like favoritism and nothing else.
You need to separate administration.
