Dear Sir,
Blaspheme laws already enforced Govt or Court ruling only, but there are people who some time planed or some time spontaneously took they laws in their own hand but now things are changing rapidly especially after Qadri....There is clear cut message to all law enforcing authorities that there should be no distinction of killing either he or she done Blaspheme or not he / mod would be handed over severe punishment for murder.
Further there is no need to change the Blaspheme laws just we need to fully impose them since the same laws deal with false accusation also but unfortunately we go soft on false accusation that attitude must be change.
Since 1947 to 1979 there are huge riots and over 500 killings over blaspheme since there were no laws to deal with but after law came to existence since then these killing reduced by 99% by all means.
Further over 20 Muslims countries have similar laws to deal with blaspheme cases then why should we / Pakistan only abandon this just because of a killing of one student over some issue.
Because our population is immature and ignorant.
Zai ul haq was the worst thing to happen to Pakistan. We should have had thrice the humiliation of 1971 and it would still be better than what he and his mullah cohorts did to the nation. The problem with Pakistan's blasphemy law is that during Zia's era from 'sentence' to 'death' was verified in such short space of time. Prior to that there were less incidents, since this change many have taken advantage of it to bully or scare people or settle personal scores. The sad part of it is in all this 'Faith & Country' get portrayed wrongly.
The other thing is this law has taken Pakistani society backwards instead of forward and has given them wrong level of confidence thus increasing extremism. Pakistan shouldn't make a massive 'haye mein Margaye' or act like they won't be able to survive because they've lived the period with the original law. To change it back is nothing new or taboo to the people of Pakistan. But the fact that it's given the wrong message and adapted a wrong mentality - to break out of it is now difficult and that is the challenging bit.
