European Commission to propose €750B EU recovery package

I think if Germany and France are on board then it will pass. Smaller countries will not be able to hold out over the intense pressure being put on them by the larger countries.

People thought that France was supporting it due to self-interest but looks like it will not be a net beneficiary after-all.

Tough negociations ahead..... you will need the agreement of the 27 for the plan to go ahead.... Many disagreements about the ratio of grants and loans + the "richest" paying for the "others".

BTW an interesting map ;

Impact of the crisis on gdp growth in Europe,excluding political measures.

The frugal 4 are unhappy already

I think Greece is getting more due to it being a richer country than Romania and the damage to tourism which they are so reliant on.

Like I say EU commission has done a good job here as the whole future of the EU was on the line.
Romania gets 2.1 times more than Bulgaria with 2.8 times the population and 3.5 times the economy....so, the algorithm of the distribution still eludes me....not that I'm complaining, just saying.

The other thing might be the level of debt that each country is in already.

Greece, Italy and Spain, along with far more wealthy France, have the highest debt to gdp ratio in the EU.

The money to each country seems fair to me at first glance.
