MarkusS, buddy, if Italy doesn't want to fight all it has to do is leave NATO. As I said it won't be Turkey pressuring you to keep your promises, it will be Uncle Sam, because if Uncle Sams soldiers are gonna die fighting under a NATO flag, as are yours.
I can't predict the future, but what I can say is that if Italy refuses to help the US and NATO in such a conflict, Uncle Sam will make sure Rome feels the pain. Look at Germany, at the beginning of problems with Russia they were against sanctions and increasing military spending, now not only did they renew sanctions but Mami Merkel declared that Germany has to increase defence spending and can't take NATO protection for granted. If the most powerful country on the Continent bows to US pressure, who is Italy to refuse ?
