Foolishness and pride goes hand in hand! If Russia cuts off the natural gas and oil supplies to Europe next winter then EU will all freeze. Europe has limited options when dealing with Russia because they have allowed themselves to become dependent on her natural resources. Germany in particular needs Russian natural gas. It would take years for EU to get dependent on some other source for natural gas!
