EF is the best PAF can get now. In fact its the best plane after F22 and F35. Equivalent to MKI. Just that MKI is heavy class and EF is medium class but they are both world class.

Now I find it very funny, when we talk about India acquiring EF, Pak members come up and say that its expensive and no way in hell can IAF acquire such planes. But when PAF is offered the same plane, they are very optimistic.

Anyways, right now, PAF will need to burn a hole in their pocket to buy these even in small numbers. And there is no joint order or anything of that kind. Of course if PAF manages to buy these even by 2020, it would simply double their chances against India in future. EF is at least 2 times better than J10 or 1.5x F16 block 50/52.

I personally don't see PAF buying these planes, but who knows, PAF might surprise me. If India buy EF PAF won't. If India chooses Rafale or F18, then PAF might and should consider these.

25-30 EF is better than 70-100 J10.
:pakistan:

i dont think you correctly rating "more manuverable J-10B with TVC" mate

.
No, it is not.

Why?

There is something called as international politics. China already has faith in Pakistan and vice versa. It wouldn't be wise to ruffle China, by opting for typhoon over J 10. It is just not air crafts which is necessary for your development. But it is just good business. And Pakistan would be foolish to opt for 36 typhoon, over J 10.

What are you or anyone else here is proposing? That Pakistan will have both in its fleet. No, it would be a bad joke. ACs are not catagorised as cusines, that you can taste the one you wish to. Pak will have to make a choice. J 10 or Typhoon.

36 Typhoon would cost around 4 to 5 Billion dollars (36 is a preety less number for a company, which is looking for a larger portion in the international market).

This is a 4 year old thread, Some one set the tune and eveyone has jumped in to dance. There is no way possible. It is 2010.....,..............

Best of luck..

if it happens it wont be a case of giving priority to EF over FC20!
it would be just that of PAF can gather enough resources it can opt for a couple of squadron of EF2000 for special ops and high end air superiority duties. FC20 will come as general high end plane and in realtively larger number ranging to actual estimated around 100-150 planes!!
dont you think that PAF will end up having just a handfull of EF and then get nothing else. it is just an option to get them for technological edge over IAF!

regards!

This thread started 4 years ago, are there any actual and reliable sources that PAF is interested in EF?

.
PAF is interested but does not have the budget to procure the EF aircraft.

.
again budget comes in the way well if budget is the probleum why buy F 16 18 why not buy 7 EF than 18 F 16 in same amount we neeed quality over quantitty

Super Falcon..good point about F-16s

How much does it cost to acquire a squadron or say 15 EF-2000 with all purchase, cost and infrastructure training? $2.5/2.7 Billion dollars? it can't go above that..get it familiarize become specialists wait for 6/7 years more order 2 more squadrons since we're not looking for quantity and quality i believe 45 is enough for a country like Pakistan we're committed to FC-20/JF-17 for a long time we need to have 1 western state of the art fighter jets.

With the arms embargo and other threat the 15-20 odd western planes can become unfliable in 10 years time...

Unless the airforce can get advance shipment of vital replacement along with plane deliveries to keep the planes up for 20 years its no point investing in such an expensive venture just for a minor technical advantage which can easily be matched by more quantity of JF17 Plateform

AZADPAKISTAN2009...so is the case with F-16s...arms embargo is on its way when us exits Afghanistan they've a more hungry wealthy customer that is india..

I agree some what the status of F16 will always be an achiles heel for Pakistan - along with its benefits - if we had no arms embargo in 90's we could have had 150 F16 flying in Pakistan airforce already

AZADPAKISTAN2009..true 150 F-16s would have been a horror for india..

But we have the ability to master technologies we use, thats why I believe induction of Euro Fighter will be beneficial for us in Future . After all F-16 will be old technology by 2025 then we might use super cuise ; canard or other techs in Euro Fighter and built our own Fighter as we introduced DSI tech both to JF-17 and FC -20 and then give both quality needed by our exposure and experience with western Tech. We don't have infrastructure like China but we do have minds. Simply saying no to western Technology will not be the resolution of Problem.Induction of Western Jets will act as Standards for us in future and definitely with all the investment for JF-17 and PAC Kamra ; It will not be a start from Scratch but altogether a different story and our future Jets will reach new heights - Best in the World- Dreams.

As far as nos is concerned; we must have decent no of High tech advanced Jets to counter both India and Israel. It seems there Triad- USA+Israel+ India is there secretly. With a back up of JF-17 along with High end Jets - Indian Airforce will be dead. JF-17 is not a Joke.In front of our Mujahids in PAF; they will be dead in anyway

Keeping eyes open; Water Issue with India can escalate anytime.

Love Pakistan more than myself:pakistan:

the reality is less budget countries like indonesia and other want to but twin engine fighter jets even in small numbers most of airforces have atleast one fighter jet who has two engines only pakistan who continue uses single engine fighter jets which makes its all aircraft very similar which dont have something different from each other to show its rival indi paf should now consider seriously twin engine fighter jet i know we dont have budget but we can cut the 250 JF 17 to 150 and cut J 10 deal we can have atleast 30 eurofighter jets

Can any one please confirm as to wether this article is an old artitcle re posted, or that this news article is new.

100 x JF 17 ($15- 20 million each) + 36 x J10B (around $41 million each) = around $3,5 billion total

36 x Rafale fly away cost is $6-8 billion, so EF most likely up to $9 billion!

The best option of a twin engine fighter for PAF should be J11, but I don't think it is comparable to EF, Rafale, or even F18SH.
