EU, Canada Slap Sanctions on Myanmar Military Officials Over Rohingya Crisis

Well we suffered the brunt of the result of ethnic cleansing. We are feeding them and housing them when we ourselves are poor. These are Burmese citizens whom Burma itself has driven off, which is unthinkable in terms of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

I am not going to point fingers but the facts remain,

a. The Rohingya have lived in Arakan for many hundreds of years (it has always been their home) and,

b. They have now been brutally driven away from their home in Arakan to within our borders in Bangladesh.

Someone in Burma must bear responsibility for these acts of injustice to the innocent, by any standards of humanitarianism.

I can understand your feeling, if I was you I will be very upset too. Sometime geopolitical calculation and decision is just beyond our reach. I hope China should take consideration of these Rohingya people in their geopolitical interest of Myanmar but as an insignificant forumner like me, I'm just just helpless and I hope you understand. My great wish is that peace reign between Rohingya and Myanmar people as soon as possible.

.
China is looking out for its best interest. Rohingya have nothing to do with China. Somehow I think the rohingya probably did something to piss off the majority of the population. Perhaps it's grudge that has been going on for decades. And btw, what the hell are rohingya doing in Buddhist Myanmar?
But I digress...

The SJW pretentious west trick you guys by slapping sanctions on the generals responsible for the massacre. Slapping sanctions on individuals, now that's a new one .

China can look out for its best interest AND set an example for smaller stature countries like Bangladesh.

I get the fact that China wants access to the Bay of Bengal through Sittwe and by developing other new ports in Myanmar. However it will not cost Chinese govt. much in the way of leverage if they can encourage the Myanmar govt. to NOT conduct ethnic cleansing on minorities which creates issue in terms of stability.

Of course if Myanmar gets to be a pariah in world trade with sanctions it will actually help the Chinese govt. in having a captive customer. But that gain may be negated with other diplomatic losses. Just my opinion.

Overt Bangladeshi support of Chinese developmental relationship may not waver- but the blind public support from China for the Tatmadaw (in this case) was certainly a disappointment to many here in Bangladesh administration, which people chose not to express openly. Sheikh Hasina's govt. chose quiet diplomacy instead of rash unwitting action.

In any case - if the Tatmadaw has learnt a lesson from this and will make amends - all this will be past history.

Peace brother...

. . .
Rohingya were in Arakan before Barmans arrived.
These sanctions are not a trick as BD will push for even tougher action next.

Please so not try to excuse China's support of a savage entity.
lol there is no rohingya in rakhine. just kaman and Rakhine. nothing to do with barman.

I think the only way to peace between us is accepting the national verification system. bro
they want us to accept their created name with the back of west. and then they want a seperated country and we already witnessed their attempts since many decade ago.

.
China by itself cannot save the savages when the whole West, many other civilised countries and Muslim countries have turned against this entity.

China has acted deplorably over this incident and this has already been made known on here. China itself is not an uncivilised country like the Barman entity is and has made a long-term strategic miscalculation which will cost it dear.
Lol And what cost do you think China will pay? Just asking.........
China is a neighbour or Myanmar, as such it has to look after its strategic interests in the country. So by supporting the Burmese government it strengthens China's position vis a vis Western and Japanese interests in Myanmar. So I don't see what you mean by China will pay the cost of supporting Myanmar, I know you have no love for the Burmese (which is normal since you believe they have harmed your home country bengladesh interests and those of its ethnic bengalis Rohingya in Myanmar) but that doesn't means you should make such trivial remarks about China, just because they support Myanmar . It seems many people are quite emotional when it comes to topics that concerns their home country (which I understand). However, we should try and be more rational.

According to bumma obviously?

Oh, you can think! :enjoy:

The massacre of Hindus by ARSA included in the local investigation and reported by Amnesty International says it all. Especially in a state like Rakhine, where there is so little Hindus to even have any significant political impact. Yet they were killed in droves. This clearly wasn't the " oppressed killing the oppressor" . This was brutal intolerance. And when these people want to be included as ethnics, of course will be a backlash from locals. Especially those affected. Hell, they don't even care about their own people. Just a few days ago it was reported that a leader in one of the camps was assassinated because of his criticism of ARSA. The first step is to eradicate these extremists and then work our way up to improving living standards for everyone in rakhine(which the gov is spending more money on), including local ethnics(which, by the way, includes predominantly Muslim groups like Kaman). We have to ignore people using this case to score political points and settle this issue once and for all for peace in the area.

Not you Bamars actually.

It's the Arkanese people of different religions who live there and they know what happened or happening there.
lol i'm not bamar.
so ask any arakanese aka rakhine 'is there an ethnic so called rohinhya''. they will answer by kicking ur ***.
So, what do you know about your burmese genocide on unarmed rohingyas? Give us some tips. Because, who knows the future!:P
lol there is no genocide. if it's called genocide because of fleeing people and killing a few people , US and Saudi are also commiting crime against humanity. check the yeman war zone. they destroyed the whole country completely and killed millions. u sympathy has double standard.

even Myanmar arrested and imprisoned the people who killed 10 people ( who come to attack the rakhine village ). but how about US troops who bombed the hospital in yemen. ?

Usually wild monkeys dont think.
of couse. that's why we can think. but monkeys from bongodesh cant think.

No one can go to Myanmar for investigation. Amnesty just quoted what those Bamar authority asked those hindu people to say after offering land and house. When they fled to Bangladesh they said it clearly and loudly how Bamar military carried out the massacre. The same person changed story thrice. Second when Bamar savage army offered the hindus land and house if they return to Myanmar, they changed story to people with black mask carried out the massacre and they do not know them. Third by going to Myanmar they changed story third time saying it is the ARSA who did the massacre when ARSA repeatedly denied it. No terrorist organization deny if they carried out any attack. ARSA said it clearly the operation is against Myanmar army not against civilian.
