The slap was on the fanatics who had surrounded her and were firing in the air.

A poor girl who had already gone through hell could never have behaved otherwise.

again I must insist that a rapist wont go that much in trouble to convert someone he has had to satisfy his animal needs. normally such women (whatever the faith) are discarded and they and their parents hide in shame for the rest of the life
I know it that this happens in Pakistan I know you wont admit that India has the same issue but I wont press you on this.

See, the problem happens when the stuff gets out of hand and the rapist gets into bigger trouble than he anticipated. Then comes the option of escaping punishment by marrying the girl (surprisingly most parents find this route acceptable to avoid the stigma attached with the rape.). In case the girl raped is Hindu (or even Christian) the angle of conversion comes in.
I have seen this happening many a times (sans the conversion angle) in India too and hence my reference to the subcontinent in my previous post.

in the end please be clear that no personal attack was meant towards you. because the report says women are converted to make the sexual assault easy and you said nonMuslims are easy target (being weak) both statements maybe true in their right but are mutually exclusive and negate each other.

which shows that the conversion is an afterthought and a precursor to a marriage as a route to escape the punishment of rape.

What type of law you have in Pakistan for inter-religious marriages?? In India Boy and girl can marry even without converting but girl must be over 18yrs and boy must be over 21yrs and the married couple can ask for police protection also. Personal laws are only applied when both sides are of same religion.

but there is an example of a Muslim girl of Pakistani origin falling in love with an Indian Hindu boy in UK. she left the family and actually went to India where she married him in a Hindu ceremony. something that was shown on BBC few years ago.

but thats not the discussion here

the discussion is women are being converted to Islam to be used as sexual objects by marrying them.

the conversion to Islam seems to be the focus of the article and the condemnation not the act and the intent. what this news also misses out is the plight of those women who are already Muslim and suffer the same fate and are forced to live in shame or commit suicide.
someone with a hyperactive libido wont stop to check the faith of a helpless woman.
if he thinks he can get away with it then her stature, her faith, her family and her ethnicity wont matter.


my cousin is a lawyer and he has drawn a chilling and hair raising picture in the courtrooms concerning such cases where women brave all the odds to go public about their suffering and then they have to face kind of shameful questions, taunts and mocking questions of the defence lawyer.

Come on, I don't think the Pakistani readers or viewers are so naive that a frontline media puts in false news, the other media would have pulled them down immediately, also there would have been wide spread condemnation from the public if it was a false news. I advice any Pakistani here to write to Tribune or Dawn and ask them to apologise for carrying fake news and tell them that they will be sued, lets see what response u get from the newspapers lawyers.

Who said its not possible to convert someone to Islam forcefully..very much possible in an Islamic country. Tell the convertee that u will kill her entire family and rape her younger sister also if she doesn't comply and she will most definitely convert under extreme duress.

I agree anything goes

thats why the poor and weak convert either by force or on their own just to be on the safe side.

I hope our Feminist Lawyer and president of Pakistan lawyers association Asma Jahangir does more than lip service in this regard.
