@mike2000 is back
People of the Horn of Africa are very different from other Africans. I mean many people, especially Africans, talk about Africa like it was 1 united continent with the same people while in reality it is the most diverse place on the planet and the differences are huge. It's like saying that all the people of the MENA region are identical, Europe, Asia etc.
Many peoples (ethnic groups) in the Horn of Africa are of Semitic origins or at least they speak a Semitic language and historically the ancient civilizations of the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula have had close historical ties. I think that you are unfamiliar with this situation with all due respect.
Most if not almost all of our Afro-Arabs are also originally from the Horn of Africa and many Horners live and work in the GCC.
I can assure you that Horners are a world apart from other Africans. I don't even think that they consider themselves as Sub-Saharan Africans but rather as a unique group of peoples within Africa. Also they look differently than the average African especially the Semitic speaking peoples. They look like a mixture of Semitic peoples (Western Asians) and Horners (Cushitic peoples).
DNA also confirms this.

In fact anthropologists and racialists have always classified the Horners as Caucasian peoples even.

I can spot an Horner person instantly and in many cases their facial features are very similar to our (Arabian/Arab/Semitic).
So yes, I would almost say that they (especially the Semitic speaking peoples of Horn of Africa) are our cousins.
Those two were/are related to begin with although that relation dates back many, many millenniums. All speaking the same wider language family (Afro-Asiatic) which is the oldest linguistic family on the planet.

I have little time on my hands now but I am sure that
@Belew_Kelew can explain this relationship deeper.
That is why Horn of Africa will also be dear to me or most of us that know history.
That's why I have been calling for much bigger ties between the Arabian Peninsula (GCC and Yemen) and Horn of Africa for years! On PDF too.
Of course also with Africa as a whole as we are neighbors.

What we also have in common is coffee, qat (
) and many similar dishes. Landscapes and climate too. The mountains of Western Arabia are an extension of the mountains of the Horn of Africa.
Personally I would love to visit Horn of Africa especially Eritrea and Ethiopia.
