Erdogan Says Egypt Should Free Mursi Before it Can Restore Ties

It's very delighting to see Saudi Arabia cheering for a coup leader (Sisi) who toppled a democratically elected president while crying about Yemenis and bombing them because they ousted a puppet stooge (Hadi) who was 'elected' in a single candidate election with 99.8 of votes. The most ridiculous part is that, Sisi, the coup leader, is also bombing Yemenis with that excuse. That's what we call rules of jungle. Hypocrisy has too many faces.

Mate the thing is Erdo has recently been selected as President and he is gonna stay for five years and probably will be selected for the second term which makes 10 years.

Other than that there will be parliamentary elections in July 2015. Problem is against AKP, there are two main opposition parties.

- MHP with Devlet Bahçeli as it's leader lost 12 elections against AKP.
- CHP with Kemal kılıçdaroğlu as it's leader lost 9 elections against AKP.

They are continuing with their leaders. Opposition really sucks big time, there are no other political parties which can challenge AKP. So, everybody expects AKP to win this election too.

I don't understand Erdoğan. MB is gone, region shaped differently. We need to reevaluate the political situation and act in according to Turkey's interests. His pro-MB stance doesn't benefits Turkey.

Erdo is starting to reevaluate his position, especially on Syria. Improving ties with Iran after the 5+1 meetings is clearly a reneg on his personal mission to topple Assad, he's invested too much in that, and the Muslim Brotherhood in both Syria and in Egypt. In Syria they don't have strong grass roots support as the majority of the MB leadership is and was in exile. In Egypt they completely self imploded.

It is weird for Turkey and Egypt not to have any normal relations considering their history and their geopolitical importance in the region, even when Egypt is in crisis. Something Elsisi keeps on saying does ring true in all this though, "there will be no movement/return to the past". Morsi is gone and the Egyptian state will not let him go before his trial.

Ten years or more isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.

Spare us the BS!

The Houthis were a part of the National Dialogue Conference that extended the term of Hadi (among other things) and set a road map. The road map included the writing of a new constitution, a referendum, and then presidential elections to replace Hadi.

Hadi was only ever meant to be an interim or transitional figure as such a plural election was not required. The elections themselves were after an initial international initiative to remove Saleh, who is now allied with the Houthis.

The same Houthis who held the interim government at gun point on multiple issues including subsidies, and most recently evicted it by force from the capital.

Hadi may enjoy little democratic legitimacy, but the Houthis have none whatsoever, that's the difference. Comparing Yemen and Egypt is just foolish (the situations and events are nowhere near the same), but you're not trying to analyse, you're trying to score political points.

Again, cry me a river.

Neither does Sisi, he is another dictator like Mubarak who forcefully took the government.

Houthis boycotted the Hadi election, they didn't want to topple him at first, the very important fact that many hypocrites here ignore. They gave Hadi more than 5 months after capturing Sana'a. Don't talk like you are on any higher moral position. You are the same guy cheer leading for another coup dictator, the same one who killed 1100 Egyptians in 3 days, while these clowns claim to be bombing Yemen defending a 'legitimate' president who was 'elected' in a single candidate election.

That's why Arabs never stop killing each other, because of this blatant hypocrisy. Morsi (I don't give damn about Morsi anyways) was elected in an election, but he was toppled in a coup, based on your lame logic, that gives the world a legitimate reason to bomb the hell out of Egypt and Sisi gang.

Again trying to score political points. Hadi and Elsisi are nothing alike nor are their paths to power.

Probably because it's not important at all. Their involvement in the NDC and acceptance of the road map which included the provision of federalism, a new cabinet, the drawing up of a new constitution, and presidential elections is important though.

They're up to their necks in hypocrisy, just like every other actor in Yemen today.

They have Hadi more than 5 months after capturing Sana'a.

So? They still held him, his government, and his supporters at gunpoint.

Don't talk like you are on any higher moral position.

Morality plays no part in the actions of states. Nor do I attempt to hold any moral high ground.

You are the same guy cheer leading for another coup dictator, the same one who killed 1100 Egyptians in 3 days, while these clowns claim to be bombing Yemen defending a 'legitimate' president who was 'elected' in a single candidate election.

Not cheer leading for anyone. You don't know my views so don't pretend you understand me or even the situation in Egypt.

Again, comparing apples and oranges. The situation in Egypt and Yemen are not alike at all, there is no resemblance.

That doesn't really change what I've said. The trials are a sham.

Except he's not free. So it does change what you've said.

He will be. A number of charges have already been dropped, including treason, and conspiracy to commit murder. Also, instead of jail, I believe he's under house arrest.

These trials are just for show, the results have already been determined.

Did you even read the bloody article.

The Court of Cassation’s Prosecution demanded Saturday the reopening of the murder charges case against former President Hosni Mubarak over the 25 January Revolution events.

The Court is scheduled to look into the case on 2 April. The Criminal Court had previously ordered the acquittal of Mubarak, his sons Gamal and Alaa, and former Minister of Interior Habib Al-Adly, along with six of his aides on charges of killing protesters.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He is also being trialed for embezzlement. Mubarak was also convicted of corruption and served his term in Tora prison, where he was also serving life for negligence after the murder charges.

He is now under detention pending acquittal or conviction. This is far from over or clear cut. But believe what you want.

Hasina and Khaleda of Bangladesh were also under "House arrest", guess what happened, both are now back on the political forefront.

Unless he isn't in a jail without luxury, he is quite safe enjoying his remaining days in comfort.

The funny thing is the onlyone who is constantly talking about egypt is Erdogan mean while sissi had never mentioned turkey before ( i have never heard him talking about it). I don't think egypt is actively seeking to restore relationship with turkey.

Oh I read it, the difference, you're taking things at face value. Nothing has changed, the proof I in the pudding. The fact he's under house arrest and not in jail? Evidence enough.

Convicted of embezzlement? Don't make me laugh. It's a slap on the wrist, nothing more.

Egypt under El Sissi.

- Freed Hosni Mubarak, the very same dictator that Egyptians wanted out after decades of rule.
- Ultimately crushed the protest and commited massacres like Rabaa.
- Forced Biased Media.

Egypt under Morsi.

- Entire Military still under the Military, not Morsi.
- The media insult Morsi all day and night freely.

He never deserved to be imprisoned. At least the Junta should have expelled him to Turkey. MB exiles now live there and tune their own channels.

His tone is getting softer speech by speech, he probaby accepted that he lost the bet in Egypt, he cant leave out the biggest country in ME when he wants to have a influence there.

not to speak of course of the hypocrisy of the iran mullah regime who aided mursi's ikhwaan thugs in slaughtering of libyans and overthrow of the finest political system in the world, other than aiding ikhwaan kill egyptians themselves... not to speak also of iran mullah regime which supports the hamas and ij gangs from gaza who not only killed syrians but also most probably went to libya earlier in 2011... indeed, hypocrisy has many faces.

Morsi is the true leader of Egypt. It's sad that Egyptians prefer sisi over morsi. I guarantee that in 5 years sisi will become another Mubarak, then everyone will regret their short sighted vision.

mursi is agent of western governments and a violator of human rights... i recommend the firing squad for him.

How the hell did Iran come in the middle? In case you didn't know, Iran also has bad relations with Morsi, I just used him as an example to show hypocrisy involved. We didn't interfere in Libya and we couldn't do even if we wanted, a country hundreds of miles away where no one likes us, we'd better stay out of it. You can blame Europe or Egypt, but not Iran.

Anyways, Gaddaffi was a true maniac, but I believe Libya was better under him compared to what it has became right now.
