Erdoğan, Putin talks on S-400 missile system sale have been positive, officials confirm

Lol I used to troll this place back in highschool, and it is fun to see that nothing has changed. There is a guy that does not know what a BVR missile is, there are lots of guys with no knowledge of English grammar at all and you guys still argue about the least important things about the deal itself.

The deal is a mess. We don't have the necessary radar network to support S-400, we lack the necessary doctrinal knowledge about Russian air defence strategies (you can check how NATO armies organize air defence units and compare them with Russian army units) I should also mention that the project itself will be a software engineering nightmare.

It usually works likes this: consider the LHD deal for example. We never had a ship like this, so we really don't know how to use it properly. Thus, in a situation like this, you import the doctrine from an allied force, usually the US. Since it is a Russian system you just can't plug it into a US doctrine. Armies do not use bunch of tools that are independent of each other nowadays. Can we use it with NATO radar network? Hell no. Can we use it with our own AWACS? Most probably not.

Since Ankara is living its own nightmare of Moscow 36, we can pretty much assume that there are no qualified officer left in the army to do things in our way. The army basically lost its brain power, and it seems that it is not going to change in the following years, because we even closed institutions established by freaking Mahmud II himself.

Even our own radar network (which is consisted of this radar: https://yazilimcorbasi.blogspot.com.tr/2012/02/trs-22xx-radar.html ) would not be able to recognize the system according to orko_08 from trmilitary. Oh, not to mention that the radar is intellectual property of a joint venture consisting Raytheon (US) and Thales (France) It won't be hard to guess what their response would be if we ask their help to modify their system.

Since Russians are not the most trustworthy nation when cybersecurity is concerned, Turkish integrators should be extra careful when integrating those machines into our grid.

Some other things too I guess, but I am tired and I should study some automata theory.

Good job from erdogan he is very pro active he is bringing turkey at right path forging new allies

It is great deal on many levels so I wish it completes successfully and our brothers in Turkey get a good AD..

They already sold it to Greece.
By that time the S-400 was in development maybe because of this.

BTW: arent the Greek S-300 orginally Cypriotic ones that had to be transferred to Hellenic airforce because Turkey threatened with war?
So technically Russia didnt sell it to a NATO country at all, would be interesting to know what Russia thought about this.

I guess Russia is developing of S-500 at this time.

means western power will do same with erdogan that's they did with Qaddafi
They have been trying dead hard, but it's not up to them to be successful!!! Reis is still there and kicking one hurdle after another that they so painstakingly put around the Turkish folks. it's a journey to reach the "soul" which has remained sealed for too long!!!!

Looks like you are very upset that FETO officers are to be put under gallows. Keep on being in "LOL" mode while the world moves on...

For the folks who might be wondering why Turkey is looking for the Russian systems, here's the answer:
  • Due to FETO (Fethullah terrorist organization), headquartered in Pennsylvania, infiltrating all organs of the Turkish state, all of its secrets were channeled to their masters in the South and West.
  • Defense being the most secretive and having been irrepairably compromised, Turkey has two choices: develop indigenously and import from non-FETO parties. No wonder Russian systems might be given a preference.
  • Recent successes against PKK/PYD terrorists are due to the whole scale purging of FETO zombies and indigenous systems (drones etc.). Needless to say, FETO sons of Iblis were in charge of the key COIN ops and Heron drones were deployed.

Turkish nation is a different type of beast and people are at a different level of awareness about their friends, enemies, freedom and democracy. The way the Turkish brave people came out on the roads to defeat the coup was not only unprecedented rather totally unexpected for the western planners of the coup. It also highlighted the unity in the ranks of the Turkish people, because both the conservatives and the liberals / seculars together resisted the subversive act by the rebels.

A couple of questions:
1- If our own long range missile defense system will be ready in 5-7 years why are we even buying the Russian product? The negotiations with the Russians alone will take at least a year and then the delivery will be completed in at least 3-4 years based on Iran's experiences with Russia. That means by the time we buy this our own systems will be ready.

2- Are we getting the source code for the product? If not why are we even buying this? Let's not kid ourselves, our main goal from buying this system is to deter Russia. If they don't give us access to the code this initiative will be meaningless.

Don't see why Turkey getting Air defence is big deal , USA themselves bought Rockets for Space station supply many times. People buy and sell items all the time

US-Russia buy stuff every now and then with out any issue

Many people buy many thing

Nice insurance policy to have system like S-300 or S-400 in hand, while you finish work on your local system

Very smart thinking by Turkey

Sure, just call everyone FETÖcü you disagree with. You should also know this though, I always wanted to be a pilot for the airforce and even though my scores were great these FETÖ guys eliminated me in the interviews. So be careful what you are saying in real life, you might get punched in the face.

S-400 is rebranded S-300. Marginal differences.

I believe it's the lack of pragmatism that makes some turks use the "feto" as an excuse, or "EU & USA loving traitors", I believe they can't see the forest because of alll those trees :)

I've previously mentioned that turkish politics is similar to rooting on a football team, Besiktas, Galatasaray or Fenerbahce (e.g.), once you pick your team, you refuse to acknowledge the other teams.

With the coming referendum people are trying to change it to us or them, mentality, but what they should be focusing on is. How much power and authority do we want to give a single human, what do we have in Turkey who can prevent one person from dragging Turkey into further chaos, check and balances.

Maybe we're already in a dire situation, but walking further down the path might not be the solution.

I read some articles about EU becoming more and more racist, and all I can say to that is, so what if EU is becoming more and more racist, does it help to draw up your own frontier? Or is it just provocation to deteriorate the situation even more. Not everyone in EU are dumb, and if we act properly and punish the politicians trying to escalate the situation. We'll be better off.

what AKP and RTE are doing atm is provocing a negative respons in order to affect the turkish peoples votes. By escalating the situation and by getting the negative respons from stupid EU politicians they're trying to show the turkish people that EU can't be trusted, and that we should "somehow" punish them.

All this can be summed up to AKP is in fact cooperating with the populist politicians to drive a wedge between Turkey and EU.

AKP and RTE damn well knew the immigration deal was Bullcrap, but they made that deal to have an Ace up their sleeve when it became necessary. All the while the turkish people have to put up with the refugee camps.

Think Goddamnit! Don't let them tell you what to think, and don't let them incite you! Allah gave you a brain!!
