Kaveri project got shelved. This seems to be K-10. Atleast they seem to be moving. I think Kalyani Group or, Reliance should come forward. If successful, the partner will have a huge advantage over others.

I guess its kaveri engine, maybe with changed name, 83 kn thrust will be enough.

Yes.. But last year they officially shelved Kaveri. Will be clear in coming future which engine DRDO is talking about.

Airforce Tejas required 95+, so it was de-linked from the program. I think it had weight issues as well.

Because it was useless to develop this engine. We needed 90-93 KN (Tejas) , 40 KN (For AURA) and a 25 KN (Passenger Jets Trainers) and Engine. Kaveri fits into none of the requirement.

No enough to power LCA tejas which is the primary reason for Engine development.

Because it never achieved 80 KN...the best it could do was 70 KN....
