What's new

English was barrier in IAF's date with Hawk

Well if thats true, then its very stupid of IAF.

But i dont think so. What i have heard is that after the basic flight training they are put into the MIg 21s and not the MKIs. As of now who ever i know and have seen looked old enough to have enough flying experience.

Can u post the report here.

Bull,

Its all true. There's even a video on youtube, I'll try to find it for you.

. .
Can you imagine hearing Apu english over the radio ?

What is Apu english?? But seriously, I have heard quite the opposite about MKI pilots. After the trainer phase, they do go through "lesser" planes MIG-21s etc before "graduating" to MKI. It's probably the same with PAF F-16 pilots..

The Hawk / Goshawk is more than just a trainer. It has true combat capabilities. That's how the pilots get weapons training on it

Hi,

I don't blame the indian pilots for having a hard time during their flight training. The british do speak funny english--specially when you have so many different accents from different areas of britain. The americans are much better and easier to understand but even the americans have their unique terminologies which may only be used and understood in the U S of A. All airline pilots who fly to the U S go through U S terminology familiarization to get used to the commands of flight control.

In most english cultures now, there are so many additions of words from the pop culture.....and its quite stupid to expect the desi's to know them,
Cant expect an englishman to understand Munnabhai's "vat lago"..

. .
I think so Rahman, Malay could answer you...better, my hindi is not something to wrtie home about....

.
vat lago means.... diss someone or fight ; get in trouble? something like that ? am I rite?

Yeah, roughly. its 'vat lago' thats more of mumbai style. In North India its more like 'vat laga di', that means 'showed him' or 'created trouble for him'. Something along these lines. Like if some 1 was troubling me, then 'maine uski vat laga di'.

.
vat lago means.... diss someone or fight ; get in trouble? something like that ? am I rite?

Its something like "hum lut gaya"... "woh lut gaya".. "get ruined"..."we are ruined"... "we will ruin him".

In munnabhai this dialogue is having a comic touch.

110% agree, its a worst kind of accent to understand, even here the Australian people having english as a mother language some times feel hard to follow them:D .
Its not just british accent, Irish, scotish all hard to follow.
While if look at american, australian or south african accents all are very easy to understand.

Muradk Sir,

Hawk is a trainer jet, that being the case what is the need of a training excercise for IAF pilots to fly a trainer!!!

Its suppose to be a easy jet which a newbie can fly before he graduates to the supersonic jets , right?

SPEED MY FRIEND MOST PEOPLE CANT TAKE IT <
We started from harvards T-6 and from there we went to T-33 and than to
F-86s so we did;nt have any problems , but now it is imperative that pilots go on some thing like Mig 21 before that go into something really advanced. My son did not go to Risalpure he went to USAF Academy Colorado Springs and flew T-38s when he came back his traning was more advanced than F-7P so he did 500 hr on F-7 and was transfered to F-16s, But before we had F-7s our course was , T-37 to FT-5 to F-6 to Mirage or F-16.

IAF has done a good thing by getting hawks they are excellent and from Hawk your pilots will go to Mig21 for night flying and than in SUs.

.
MuradK Sir,

Hawks are night flying capable.

Adu

.
yes I know but I am giving you the procedure what IAF will do , and what the RAF does. Flying at 220 knots in the night is very differnt from flying at 600knots. I had 100 hr on F-86 and when I went for night flying , after sitting in the plane I felt that I had never flown the plane, Its a whole different world without the sun.
