That is not entirely true. England will have to lose their last match against NZ and Pakistan will have to win against BD. Only then can Pakistan still qualify on points.

Australia is a better probably the best ODI team in the World Cup. England even if not best, their team has more individuals who can give match winning performance compared to India. India is really third best and unworthy of title if they don't change their collective attitude soon enough.

India's strong points are Virat, Rohit, Bumrah and perhaps Shami and Dhoni (not for his batting though).

Everything else is India's weakness. They are in team because of lucky performance helped by others not because one can put expectation on them.

Chahal and Yadav also reliable in conditions that suit them.

We lack players who have class and intent. Many play just to stay in team.

This is the strangest chase i have seen in world cricket... This is clearly a team decision to go for NRR and not for the win.. Look at the body language of players (fist bumps in last over) and the coach.. This is a new low, only to keep pakistan out!

Exactly. They held their wickets but intentionally didn't went for the runs. First 10 overs were the key when just 2 fielders were outside the ring. Yet they scored only freaken 27 runs. And in the last 10 overs they only scored 72 runs with 6 wickets in hand in which 12 runs came in the last over when it was already all over for India. Last 10 overs only 1 six. Deliberate loss written all over the face. No kidding. Even commentators are saying same.

i dont think india lost the match on will. they were looking for big hits till the time pandya and pant were batting. the moment pandya got out things really got out of their hands. so they decided to improve the run rate.

They beat Pak before and would probably wont mind facing Pak in semi finals or finals as compared to facing England, Pak has a tough challenge of facing BD which they havent yet, BD alone can kick Pak out this tournament considering how well they have been playing, I doubt Ind would have Pak's qualification in mind during the match

Losing to kick other teams out is something for fans to keep themselves occupied with, a sports team would only want to look at its own performance, its ridiculous to think Ind would lose this to keep Pak out when Pak havent even beat BD yet

i was still surprised by how relaxed Dhoni was taking singles out there, usually batsmen will show disappointment or anger not being able to hit 4 or 6 but Dhoni simply planned to take singles and was happy doing it, looks like Kholi will find it more difficult to defend him from here

Maybe Dhoni just doesn’t have it in him anymore.
