Cricket became popular because our elites have promoted it at the expense of other sports. Unhealthy in my opinion. Cricket might be popular in certain countries of the world, but in others hardly anyone cares or follows this game. Cricket is isolated in only a handful of nations as compared to other sports.

Perhaps time has come for the authorities to facilitate and promote other sports in Pakistan. When Pakistanis become exposed to other sports they will realise there is more to sports than just cricket.

When I talked to my Pakistani countrymen, they say if Pakistan was like South Korea or Japan, they would never leave it.
