VLADIMIR Putin is preparing to send 150,000 troops to Syria in a bid to wipe out the evil Islamic State once and for all as he hints at joining the West following the Paris attacks.

The US sent over 150K soldiers to fight a big professional Iraqi Army and to fight the battle in the entire Iraq. To take over a few strong holds and sort of going door to door to clean up this mess of ISIS, 150K troops are an overkill. This is just to threaten Turkey and then NATO.

Russian economy is in its worst shape since post 90's economic melt down. May be they want to start a war, which may remain regional (Russia, NATO in Europe), but it might end up breaking NATO, and a secondary aspect would be that they'd push their military out to these areas where they can challenge anyone by being next door, and rather quickly as their military would be "deployed" in this region.

The strategy might be to break the NATO, and then put so much pressure on Germany, Turkey, France, and the UK to some degree, that the Europeans won't participate in putting any sanctions against the Russians, or they'll go to war.
I can't comprehend this using a sensible mind and thinking of the impact on human lives across this entire region. But it is Putin and he's a little crazy. So if he wants to do it, I think it might happen.

There are various writers from Russian origin doing very focused propaganda lately, many articles in the Western media across Europe and the US are clearly writing "a war is likely with Russia", and almost 95% of the reports I've read like these, had a Russian descent author behind it. So there is a much bigger strategy than ISIS. I think Russia is about to counter Europe all the way through massive force on their borders that if they put any restrictions or sanctions, they'll have to go to war with Russia. Which none of them can do. Plus, if NATO breaks, you isolate Europe (there are reports / articles on that too, may be Russian propaganda, I am not sure). And the Russians will have total control in terms of getting their way, as the US is far away.

I know the US government is reading into it, and they are also considering options to deploy larger number of aircraft, right on Turkish-Syrian border. But let's see how it all goes. Crazy stuff happening around the globe!!!!
