"Emad" new generation of Iranian long range Balistic missiles

on sunday Iranian defense minister announced the successful test fire of a new generation of long range ballistic missiles dubbed Emad.
Emad is Iran's first long range ballistic missile with capability of guidance and control to the moment of impact, this capability will highly increase the accuracy of Iran's long range ballistic missiles, while makes them able to hit the moving targets.

at the moment of impact, the voice in the video says it exactly hit beside the balloon!

I think thats an upgrade kit for the current Shahab fleet.upgrades seems to be applied on its fuel,CEP and maneuvering.

Its warhead seems detachable and maneuverable.I can say thats a good upgrade/replacment to the current Shahab fleet that form the majority of our medium range balistic missile arsenal.

Hopefully,Introduction of next generation of Sejjil missile will be held very soon.

There is no intention for improving the range of our balistic missiles since Israel,PGCC and the rest of our potential enemies are located not so far from us and also dont forget that a long range balistic missile(range of above 3000 KM) without a nuclear warhead is not economical and accurate.

Upgrades would be applied to speed,precision and maneuvering of current fleet.(Shahab,Qiam,Fateh,Sejjil).

There is no official announcement on range and operational specs of the missile.

This is not so much a completely new missile but new guidance system used for the warhead and other guidance systems. For example,the warheads now have terminal guidance vastly increasing their accuracy. Notice the finlets on the warhead. What is going to happen is that this new guidance system will be applied to other Iranian missiles in the inventory. Soon, you will see sejill series also upgraded with this guidance system (if not already).

What this means now, Iran will have great number of medium (2000-3000km) ranged missile with very high accuracy. As stated by the missile expert, Uzi rubin below, once you have this capability, your needs for nukes go down, as during a conflict, you can practically pick the enemies' strategic sites and destroy them, essentially paralyzing their country.

page 97 first paragraph mentions Emad-1 ICBM and that it will have a sat-NAV and deployed in 2016. How do these guys know about it? He mentions a CEP of 500m but Wiki says 100 m. Which is correct?

Iran successfully tests long-range missile | Zee News

Tehran: Iran on Sunday successfully test-fired a long-range missile, state Defence Minister Hossein Dehqan said.

Designed and manufactured by Iranian experts, the missile named "Emad" is "Iran's first long-range missile that can be guided and controlled until hitting the target," Dehghan said.

It is able to destroy the targets with high precision, the Iranian minister said without further details on the technical specifications and range of the missile, Xinhua news agency reported.

"Iran will never seek anybody's permission for enhancement of its deterrent power and missile capabilities," he added.

Iran has the largest ballistic missile arsenal in the Middle East and has developed a 2,000-km missile.
