Elon Musk Says Autopilot [Full] Self-Driving Beta Will Start Next Tuesday

As I recall the beta testers said they were warned not to do anything incredibly stupid as it was still in beta. So they aren't going to risk having their beta rights yanked. It snowed in Massachusetts yesterday and I didn't see Kim (who lives in Rhode Island) drive up to test it out.

What are the legalities involved ?
Or terming them as test vehicles, tesla or anyone can quietly introduce them to the public ?

Basically it is treated like cruise-control which is available on almost all cars/trucks/suvs. Any driver can engage cruise control on a busy city street. It's up to them to make sure it doesn't run anybody over.

Cruise control is for highways where constant speed can be maintained. Steering is not involved.
This is at a totally new level.
