What's new

Elon Musk Just Became The Richest Person In The World ($190B)

All that matters is Tesla’s execution and continued innovation. Every quarter Tesla will set record after record. The stock price will follow suit.

So you think it's going to be a 10 trillion company? 100 trillion? 300 trillion?

I guess if we all just buy Tesla, everyone in the world will be a trillionaire.

I can agree on the strength of their fundamentals but the price now is purely retarded. There is money to be made off of mass retardation but its price is completely divorced from its present value.

or he will add more to it, by the way its just a baloon money there was once a billionaire founder/CEO of blackberry we used to know.

They are only assessing him owning $15B of SpaceX's $46B.
If the Starship design works SpaceX's valuation will go through the roof as there's going to be a flood of space construction started.

Starship is not being designed like the Space Shuttle as a multibillion dollar sophisticated machine. Quite the opposite. Most will be huge cargo craft that can be built in volume at a cost cheap enough that if he loses a few it isn't a setback.

Stock prices aren't always in accordance with P/E ratio or company financials. Also, at this moment it's better to ride the wave since I've seen a ton of people becoming "Teslanaires"

My colleague who sits next to me tripled his money where he put his life savings a couple of months before the stock split. I should've taken his advice

Nevertheless, anyone could make an electric car with a decent range but what makes Tesla standout is it's tech. The next best electric car after a Tesla is a Porsche Taycan but middle income folks can't afford it. I see Lucid and maybe even Rivian having a good potential and the ability to compete with Tesla if they're able to get their tech right and sustain their production phase...since Tesla had a hard time meeting the demand and still has QC issues

Ok you have full authority to utilise your money. I am saying in accordance with whatever knowledge I got from Benjamin Graham . There are many companies like this in the past but it went from boom to bust. The way price is moving is beyond ridiculous.
These prices are dirt cheap compared to what they will be in 10 years. I couldn’t give a rats *** about its P/E ratio. Look at its future growth and innovation. Tesla has a good chance of becoming the most valuable company in the world by the end of the decade.

Too much optimism or pessimism is bad , you got to be an realist to be a value investor .
They will try to make their own battery, battery is 40 % of total cost to manufacture electric car

Maybe they will but I won't route for the market frenziness that is happen with Tesla . If any company does not follow the fundamentals it is better to avoid it. There are plenty of moneymakers in the stocks.

Tesla set to ‘double and triple again’ after energy business causes ‘big disruption’

Tesla’s energy business gets put off to the side due to the overwhelming success of the company’s automotive side. While the growth of Tesla’s automotive sector has influenced an over 700% boost in the stock price over the last year, venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya says that when the company’s energy business takes off, the market capitalization will double or even triple due to demand.

“I think that the reality is that Tesla is a distributed energy business,” Palihapitiya said to CNBC. “They are figuring out how to harness energy, how to store it, and how to use it in a way to allow humans to be productive. Cars are a manifestation, but solar panels are as well, Powerwalls are as well. I’m telling you right now…the big disruption that’s coming is to power utilities.”

Tesla has established itself as a main player in the alternative energy business over the past few years. While the company is most known for its vehicles, which are the most popular battery-powered cars globally, the energy sector gets little recognition from investment firms. However, investors are well aware of the impact the company has on the solar energy and energy storage market.

In Q3 2020, Tesla saw a 111% increase in solar, with 57 MW being deployed compared to only 27 in Q2 2020. Additionally, energy storage also increased by 81%, from 419 MWh in Q2 2020 to 759 MWh in Q3, the company disclosed in its Q3 Update Letter.

Tesla has also been able to cut the cost of its solar panels, making them one-third as expensive as the national average. The company has been able to make its solar program more affordable by cutting soft costs, like doing away with salespeople.

Palihapitiya, a long-time TSLA investor, is keen on the idea of the energy business taking off within the next few years. Growing support for alternative energy has set Tesla up for a huge future, especially considering their solar panels and energy storage options are more affordable than competitor options.

“There are trillions of dollars of bonds, of cap backs, of value sitting inside the energy generation infrastructure of the world, that is going to go upside down. When that goes pear-shaped, Tesla will double and triple again,” Palihapitiya added.

Palihapitiya was brought on to talk about several topics, but his long-time friend Elon Musk’s new title as “World’s Richest Person” also came up, and he shared his support for the Tesla CEO. “The world’s richest person should be somebody that’s fighting climate change.”

Fundamental (financial) only shows current state. With their battery factory plan, I believe it will create some projection among the investors that the company can be really profitable in the future, at least they already had strong brand and big market share in EV market, two very important factors in term of making profitable and solid company, particularly in high end vehicle market which has tight competition. As we know, many stock investors are actually betting on the future and with that battery plant they have, that betting is backed by some thing quite reasonable in my opinion.

Don't worry his money will be spent in ways the world previously could only have dreams of. This is truly momentous.

He should pledge a certain amount of money for R&D involving warp capability sometime in the future.
