The corruption you are talking about comes from corruption of character, which is common to all the humans around the world. However, what is not common is the culture of corruption which we see reaching staggering heights among the Arabians.

Preferring an atheist, a Hindu, or a Christian nation over a fellow Muslim nation is not corruption? Discrimination against poor Muslims and treating Xtian whites as heaven sent is epitome of corruption! It is a joke that you mentioned "Arabian" and "Honest" in the same sentence.

And for your question - Yes! I very much think that if there is black gold, or something of similar financial significance, found in Pakistan, corruption level will go miles below that of Arabians. Won't you like to find out the reason why?

The author (his opinion ofc) is trying to highlight the much prophesized arabic race/roots theory prevalent in pakistan. Ofc, Islam was a tool in the process..

Eg. ( no offence meant ) The caliphate theory was professed by Arabic invaders to expand their kingdom to their east ( again Islam was used as a tool ). Although the theory itself has nothing wrong in it but an average person does fail to observe that while arabic invaders were professing it with full conviction, they were themselves fighting among each other at home ( basically had separate countries/empires )

They are better off because they are rich (because they have oil). Rich people tend to do less small crimes. If pakistan had loads of oil ( per head) there will be much less corruption at low level.
Compare pakistan with egypt, thats a much farer comparison.

once again, the ARAB culture referred to here is PosT-muhammed era culture ! And Islam was a tool to expand that culture. U seem to have some serious reading issues.
